I would like to see Omar retire. I have been a fan of his for a long time and I think he has proven himself as a great shortstop. That being said, he has no reason to keep playing and if he plays much longer he takes the risk of slipping into the, "Held on too long" group. Hang 'em up Omar, you've had a hell of a career.

I wish the giants would have brought omar back rather than signing renteria to a two year deal. Omar is in better shape now than half of the current giants roster. He could probably play a couple more years actually. He's not an everyday guy anymore but he's a super defensive sub and can give you 200 professional at bats, not to mention what a good teammate and clubhouse guy he is.

I'd hate to see him falter next year, but he seems to be playing pretty well this year in a diminished role. He's had significant time at 2B and 3B in addition to SS. So far zero errors in 200+ chances leads the majors among non-1st basemen. It seems to me he might be able to fill the utility role again for a few teams, but we'll see!
