What does everyone think. I am surprised Houston would trade Landry
I wonder is Sergio Rodriguez will get some time at PG or SG. I think he is pretty talented

I also hope Hill gets more playing time

The Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks have agreed to terms that will expand the Houston-Sacramento deal into a three-way trade that lands Tracy McGrady with the Knicks, according to NBA front-office sources.

The Knicks will acquire McGrady and Sergio Rodriguez from Sacramento, sources said.

The Rockets get Kevin Martin, Jordan Hill and Jared Jeffries from New York and will have the right to swap first-round picks with New York in 2011 as well as take on New York's 2012 first-round pick.

Sacramento obtains Houston's Carl Landry and Joey Dorsey and New York's Larry Hughes

I hope Gallinari gets some extra shots with Jefferies' departure.

Wow...I can't believe we were able to get Kevin Marin, Jordan Hill and the Knicks 1st round picks in 2011 and 2012! Granted we would only get the Knicks 1st rounder in 2011 if they have better one the Rockets but still.

While we did also give up Landry, this is still much more than I ever thought we would get for McGrady.

Oh and yes I say we as I am part of the Rockets.

Has this trade been confirmed(?), as I've seen several different one's floating around the internet today (& KPRC Channel 2 Houston is reporting something different). If this is true then I'm pretty upset that we gave up Landry, he was a true "grit & hustle" type of player & basically the only real consistant rebounder we have!

UGH...Not happy. :?

I don't really follow the NBA much, but since I live in Sacramento county, I follow the Kings somewhat.

But what is their benefit in this trade? Why would they trade Martin?

Martin couldn't play with Evans. Evans is a superstar, so they traded the other older guy and got some front court help.

Bill Simmons to Daryl Morey on twitter:

Serious question for @dmorey - were you wearing a black ski mask and holding a gun when you made that Knicks trade?

That about sums it up.

He is the really good GM. He's basically bucked the trend of former player/coach GM's and taken a Money Ball type approach.

I still do not see that happening. I see them get Joe Johnson and maybe Bosh

Welcome to New York Lebron

ESPN said New York has enough to make two max offers now. Bosh and Lebron in New York sounds like it's pretty likely.

Can't believe how well Houston came out in that deal. Sacramento got Landry for Martin and Rodriguez, essentially ... ::facepalm::

Was a hell of a deal for the Rockets. I'm honestly surprised and impressed how fast the Knicks got so far under the salary cap after being in such a huge financial mess just a few years ago.

Yet another poor move by the Knicks ::facepalm::

Can't judge that yet. The accomplished their goal for the season with this trade, which was to get under the cap enough to make two max offers this summer. If they do not land Lebron then it wasn't a great move. They did at a point guard that can play, which is crucial in a D'Antoni offense. If they can make a splash in free agency you're looking at a team that could be:

PG: Rodriguez
SG: Gallinari
SF: Lee (if they resign him)
PF: Lebron
C: Bosh

If they do that it's an amazing move. If not, it's an ok trade because it freed up a little cap space.
