Yet another poor move by the Knicks ::facepalm::

Can't judge that yet. The accomplished their goal for the season with this trade, which was to get under the cap enough to make two max offers this summer. If they do not land Lebron then it wasn't a great move. They did at a point guard that can play, which is crucial in a D'Antoni offense. If they can make a splash in free agency you're looking at a team that could be:

PG: Rodriguez
SG: Gallinari
SF: Lee (if they resign him)
PF: Lebron
C: Bosh

If they do that it's an amazing move. If not, it's an ok trade because it freed up a little cap space.
My understanding (based a recent article on ESPN) is that if they sign 2 max players they will not have available cap for Lee. Personally I just don't see James coming to NY. Regardless I they might be better off signing one max guy and 2 other solid players (one of them possibly being resigning Lee.)

I cant see 2 huge names like that going to the Knicks either but I do think they will snag 1 huge name for sure this off season

They could let Lee go, keep Gallinari at SF, and fill in with a veteran or rookie SG for cheap money. If New York at a decent point guard, which they do in Rodriguez, to pair with Lebron and Bosh they wouldn't need much else anyway.

Just wondering, but why can't you see them signing two huge names? It makes a lot of sense to me. Bosh will never be the best player on a championship team, but he becomes the best second banana in the league if he pairs with Wade or Lebron. New York has the legacy, the image enhancement/add money, coach, and core group to compliment a couple superstars.

So it's more you see Lebron staying in cleveland or going anywhere but the knicks than the knicks getting to big names?

Love the salary cap flexibility the Knicks got with this deal. The number I heard is that they freed up about $30 million.

The GM Walsh should be congratulated. He has dumped a bunch of dead salary the last two years, got a good up-tempo coach and at least the fans care about the team now. That didn't seem possible during the Isaiah years. Heck, Walsh even got Starbury out of the country!!

BTW, they are still the Knicks, blowing a big lead late to lose in OT last nite. I was listening to ESPN Radio last nite as the game was winding down and you just knew how it was going to end. The host, Dari Nowkhah, kept saying "These are the Knicks" and it came true.
