So, a local St. Louis sports memorabilia store called St. Louis Sports Co. is having a public signing with former Cardinals pitcher/outfielder Rick Ankiel.

I scored my ticket today. The tickets were only $20.00, and they're only selling 150 tickets total, so it's going to be a pretty low key signing for being at their West County Mall location.

Ankiel's one of my favorite Cardinals of all time. His story amazes me. I'm pretty excited to be able to meet him.

I just have no idea what to take to have him sign. Inscriptions were $10.00 extra, but I didn't get that. I don't care to have an inscription.

What should I have him sign, that would be affordable?

I vote a 2008 Allen and Ginter. I might be a bit biased though since im trying get the set signed and still need ankiel for it. But really, I'd look into an 8x10. I would say an OMLB but those are $15-20

I'm really not into cards much anymore. I've been dumping a lot of my stuff. I still have a lot of Ankiel stuff though, and I posted on his FaceBook page that I would bring all the cards I have and give them to him if he wants them. I posted pictures of what I can have. I figure if I'm wanting to get rid of the stuff, I might as well give them to the man himself if he wants them.

An 8x10 is a good idea, that's what I was thinking. I wonder how he feels about signing things from his pitching days.

I'd have to agree with the Ginter, and I'm unbiased lol

But maybe a lil bit biased since I solely collect auto cards and don't care much for other items but hey can't go wrong with gettin A&G signed

I met Ankiel when he was on the Cardinals AA team in 2005 after he became an outfielder. His team was visiting the local Midland Rockhounds (A's AA team).
He seemed like a nice guy as he signed autographs for everyone. I got him on two cards and a ball that I got most of the team on.

I agree, definitely go with 16x20 over 8x10, especially if you can get it up on the wall and not just laying somewhere or in a Binder.

The store should be able to give you an idea what photos they're gonna have but hopefully there's one from those Missile-type throws in Colorado in '08...
