Mega Football Board Promotion

That's actually the most perfect response ever!

There's nothing more or less serious about my response than the original 'casual' remark.

It's exclusionary; serious or not, it doesn't contribute to the dynamic the promotion is intended to foster, inclusion.

Isn't that the very specific point of it?

You guys do know that there are a good number of people that come here every single day for years without posting right? Sometimes without even registering too!

If a promotion like this draws them out to participate, how's that negative in any way?

Further, caustic responses are probably the single most effective way to ensure promotions like these are ineffectual.

I would imagine that effective use of promotional efforts for FCB are reasonably important to their continuance.

well...lets just hope these guys stick around after the promotion and don't go into hiding again.

These communities are insular for good reason. A promotion like this makes so much more sense when it's conjoined with a 'welcoming committee' of sorts, a 'get out of hazing free' card to get good conversion from the time and money spent trying to increase participation.

Drawing people out or pulling them in to an inhospitable welcome doesn't land as many new folks as a hospitable one is all.
It's really one of the best ways current members can actively supplement FCB's efforts to grow.
