I picked this up with the intention of cutting it up and producing a bat barrel custom (Flawless basketball style). Coaching football has gotten in the way and I've had little time to work on things.
Ott is a 500HR club HOF (1951) legend and finding an auto on something like a mini-bat like this is pretty rare. Ott passed away from a car accident in 1958.
The signature presents well on the barrel of the mini-bat but is obviously lighter than a modern signature. The bat is signed by another player but it doesn't interfere with the Ott at all. I bought this from a very reputable dealer of vintage signatures.
I'll throw this out for a couple days and if it doesn't move I'll bear down and start on the project.
