Not Rick, but his son, Rich.

Rich was hired as the coach of the Minnesota Gophers a month or two ago after Tubby Smith was fired. The Gopher coaches are participating in a road trip of outstate Minnesota (similar to a caravan), and my town was the first stop.

He spoke about Joe Coleman leaving the team, and bringing Malik Smith over from FIU, and joked about his dad's Louisville team. He was a very good speaker.

Anyways, I got some autographs. I'll be seeing him again in a month. I plan to bring a basketball and some floorboards, I just didn't have the money or time this go around for that stuff.

I'll be uploading pictures soon. Each coach was "required" to sign, but even still, he was a nice guy.

630+ views and not one comment... I'm guessing most people thought I was talking about Rick.

After looking through the photos, very few of them turned out great. Here is the index card he signed for me. He also signed a poster, which I'll show off after the next team stop I go to. I plan on bringing an NCAA white panel basketball to the next signing.

Charismatic guy, will recruit as well as somebody in Minnesota can....

but he will still get whipped up and down the floor by the blue bloods in the conference. Stuff happens.

Had another meeting with him yesterday. I was unable to purchase a basketball, but I did bring some photos of him throwing the first pitch out at Target Field.

What's also cool, former NBAer Quincy Lewis was there, and sat at our table. He works for the Gophers athletic department and was working at the event. He signed an index card for me.

I'll have pics posted soon!
