It's crazy how the mets are sustaining / Hanging on with all the injurys. My question is if you took the leadoff hitter, Cleanup Hitter and 2 of the 3 top pitchers from a team, how would other teams do??? My point is do you think most of the teams in the league could sustain and still play competitive the way the Mets are playing if they lost as much as the mets have??

Yes, look at the Rays, Yankees, Angels, and Rangers. All missed there best hitter (Longoria, Arod, Vlad, Hamilton), all missed at least two key pitcher(Rays: Kazmir, Percival. Yankees: ****, Bruney, Marte. Angels: Escobar, Lackey, Shields, Santana, etc. Rangers: Mccarthy, Franscisco.), and in some cases a key position player (Rays: Iwamura. Yankees: Nady, Posada).

This just named a few examples.

While some players have returned from the DL, the teams did have to play a good portion of this season without there stars. All of the above teams are over .500, and in a close playoff race.

Injuries are just part of the game. Every team goes through their ups and downs.

All valid points, but how about taking away Tex, Jeter, and Damon away from the Yankee lineup? This is pretty much the Mets right now without Delgado, Reyes, Beltran. They would manage to win just like the Mets are now in my opinion, but it is just amazing how many guys they have lost.

Halladay, Marcum, McGowan, Janssen, Litsch.

Closer: Scott Downs

That's an incredible rotation. And they're all injured.
