So my buddy pulled this card from a retail box for $12. He wants to sell it but has astronomical thoughts on price. This is the 3X5 box topper. There are 10 total #1/1s in the set. Does anyone have an idea of what this would bring on auction? Thanks for the help.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic.

Here is my uneducated evaluation on a price....

1. It's not a card, it's a 3"x5" Box topper and as such would rule out a LOT of potential buyers that would simply not buy it because it's not a "card".

2. It's rather booring looking. Yes, its a rare Jordan auto but it almost looks more like a poster or advert than a 'card' per see.

3. It's rather unknown, in fact this is the first time I hav even heard of the card/set.

I think because it's a product of a basket ball set produced by upper deck that it would command more than your average Jordan Auto, but I'm not inclined to think we would see a HUGE premium. Again, this is an uneducated guestimate, but I would reasonably expect $500 - $1000 if it were mine and be happy with the take.

*Disclaimer*

Jordan collectors can traditionaly be nuts over rare stuff though, so because of that fact the sky 'could' be the limit on the open market. Just imagine if you had 2, 3, or even more deep pocketed Jordan collectors going after it!

Well, he has $12 into it, so there's not much to lose.

I'd list it. $.99 Opening bid, 7 day auction, and let them fight over it!

Should bring in a few bills.

It is from 2009/10 Upper Deck Jordan Legacy Set. These: [ebay:155zyk74]230754684279[/ebay:155zyk74]

He said he won't take less than $2k for it. I told him it was probably more like $800-$1200.

Take a look at the last couple MJ 1/1s that have ended: $1300-1500

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-UD-MJ-Auto ... 19ce0ae08c

I think these are comparable since there were like 10-15 of these "1/1s" in the set as well, feature MJ in a Bulls uni, and are stickers.

For a full results list (sort by highest price):

However, the fact that it's not a true "card" and is a 3x5 boxtopper does limit the market somewhat. It's also from a not so highly sought after set. It's a huge range, I know, but if I had to guess, I'd say anywhere from $800-1500, realistically in the $1000-1200 range.
