Out of town until Wednesday morning. I'll bump this with some scans when I get back. Offhand I know I have about 50 base chrome, 6 gold ref, 4 orange ref. 8 sterling ref, 8 sterling gold ref, 4 sterling black ref. About a third of all are bgs9.5 or psa10

Keep in mind us Mariner fans need something to get us excited. Yeah, Pineda probably won't get a lot of lefties out at the major league level until he can develop his change up but I know I will absolutely tune into to mlbtv and watch him. Just like when Felix came up from AAA it was so exciting to have a Happy Felix Day. Now maybe a happy Michael day??? Happy Pineda day? Happy "whatever his nickname is going to be" day.

Lets see the stash.

SCANS! I am pumped up thinking about the King and Ajones
Yeah would like to see some scans as well your collections I heard r very very nice

Who is adding him to his fantasy squad?

My draft was last night and I took him in the second to last round.

I took him in the 7th round of a 12 GM's league (12 players protected previous to the draft). K's should compensate for less wins. Anyway, he is my 7th starter, there is no rush or high hopes.

Keep in mind for every Felix, Adam Jones, & Pineda collection I've done well with there is also some huge Rafael Soriano, Joel Pineiro and D'arby Myers collections that are currently making nice paperweights. I have over 100 Rafael Soriano autographed rookies still......

What the hell? I like Pineda but why Brendan Ryan over Ackley in the infield. Its torture living in Washington and being a M's fan. PLAY BALL!

I disagree. There are different theories all over the league on how to handle young pitchers. If ya'll remember correctly no one handled Felix with kid gloves. He's pitched six seasons in the league and he is only 24, and is one of the best pitchers in the game and probably the best in the American League. Pineda is a huge kid with an explosive arm. I believe he is too good for AAA. If you looking for an example of "stupid" consul the way the old general manager and manager handled Brandon Morrow.

When people say it's "stupid", they are referring to starting his "clock" so soon. If the Mariners wanted, they could start him at AAA, call him up June 1st, and thus gain another year of control of Pineda. As another poster mentioned-what would you rather have, these 2 months of him in the MLB(April, May), or call him up in June and gain an extra year of his services(at age 28)?

When your team is not expected to contend this year, I think the answer is easy-keep him in AAA for 2 months, call him up in June, and thus gain an extra year of control of Pineda.

Someone did a nice piece on ESPN.com regarding this issue with Brandon Belt, about how starting him in the majors will mean he reaches arbitration a year earlier, which makes him more expensive, too. So not only will they lose a year of control, but it will be more expensive for them I believe.

Isn't Brendan Ryan playing shortstop for the M's? Ackley is at 2B...

Because ackley still needs to work on being a 2nd baseman and just more seasoning. Jack Wilson is the staring 2nd baseman not ryan

Pineda walks like a chicken..

if you can find a youtube video of him, watch him. he has a strange posture that makes him walk kind of stooped forward..

Yeah, but if Ackley was at second Wilson would be at SS and no Ryan.

I just think if Smoak an Pineda get their seasoning in the bigs, then let poor Ackley get his.

This has absolutely nothing to do with handling the picher. It has everything to do with delaying free-agency and arbitration.

In an almost exact situation:

Andy (Cleveland, OH): Loved watching the Chiz-kid this spring. When can we reasonably expect to see him play for the Tribe fulltime?

Jim Callis: By midseason. No reason to start his arbitration clock ticking before then, though Chisenhall already is Cleveland's best option at third base.
