HoustonTeams4Me said:Everything of his (basically across the board) has been going up since the trade to the A's, which I'm guessing is due to the fact that there's a good chance he'll have a place with the team out of Spring Training.... In all honesty I thought we'd see a drop after he was traded from the Phillies but that hasn't been true in the least! I'm just glad he's going to be in the big's here pretty soon (ROY, here he comes)!![]()

I think the reason his stuff is up across the board is because he was a piece in THE trade of the offseason. His name was mentioned on ESPN several times including comments by Tim Kirchen who reported that he talked to a scout who said Taylor was the best player in the minors last season. It has nothing to do with being an A, but only his name finally being recognized (much like Laporta in the CC deal).

Oh I fully agree it has nothing to do with him going to Oakland & playing for the A's, but the fact that he now has an established ETA & that it is likely going to be sooner in the early goings this season (Spring Training) rather than later (instead of him sitting in the minor's for another entire season or longer if he would've stayed with the Phillies). I do agree that the publicity helped alot also, as anytime you get people to look at a player with the production & trait's that M.Taylor has your going to have more people hop upon the bandwagon... On a different note, didn't LaPorta take a pretty drastic drop after the CC deal (just curious as you used him as an example though I'm not sure his situation applies to Taylor's)??? HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!!! :grouphug:![]()

He hit a MOON shot in Trenton. The ball went out of the stadium in left field, it was easily 375-400 feet on a line drive.
