Just to put the thread back on track, I'm aware of all the fakes, and also understand that personal prefrence along with limited iconic releases like the UD cards are going to most likely hold value. This thread is not about 'buy what you like' or how many fakes there are, but simply to better guage the ammount of Mantle auto's that are really out there and if the generic auto will ultimately bottom out.

I don't think they will sell for below what they are today...they have sold in this price range for many years.
Look at "completed" sales for what they sell for. You will find the prices from 150-2000+ depending on what it is. I don't think an uncertified decent auto will sell for below $150-200 and I don't think a nice psa/dna certified auto will sell for much below $300. And I don't think premium autos will change much either. Yes, there are a lot out there, and many do not sell on a regular basis.

I'd say 800k to a million and about 10 million fakes have been done of his. Greg Marino did about a million Mantle fakes by himself and he did Mantle very well.

I don't think you realize how many 1 million truly is. There is no way...he probably hasn't even written his name 1,000,000 times in his entire life.

I know just how many 1,000,000 is, being an electronics engineer, but do you realise he did this for a living for 20 years? How many auto's could you sign if it were your job for 20 years?

Let's say he signed 1000 a day for 30 shows a year for 25 years. That would be 750k autos. Also keep in mind the autos signed during games, or via public sightings, etc. 1 million is possible.

i'd say that for every show he did with the /1000 "limit", the mick would have to sign
another 1,000 items for UD behind the scenes
