If you know cbb told you he had higher offers, I'm not sure that's something I'd believe. He's not known to be the most honest person. It's also a great salesman's lie.

That's just outrageous but there is only one in existence and that is the nature of the beast. As everyone says on here, "it's worth what someone will pay." Only time will tell whether Monty lives up to the current hype.

That used to be the case with auctions because it takes two people to drive up the price.

Look everyone... before you start making all those comments like you have been I suggest you look into what your talking about a little more... I started with $500 in 2004 when I was 14 years old... now I'm 19 and this isn't even my most expensive card... if you put two and two together you can see i've made a pretty penny off of this baseball card thing... i think i know what i'm doing

Probably in some minds but that's your choice to do so
A lot of people overpay for stuff and they get patted on the back
People don't know you (or are jealous of purchase) so it's easier to rip on you
No need to have to try to justify it. The above comment by you could rub some the wrong way and come off as being arrogant but I I'll chalk it up to you feeling defensive about others ripping on your purchase

I'm sorry, but why in the world would the seller have "higher offers" but choose to sell it to you? Doesn't that sound a little far fetched? With the lone explanation that the higher offers came from low/no feedback bidders, but then why should that give you confidence that it would sell for more? That logic just doesn't make sense.

Came across the card on eBay and was going to post about it, but found this thread.

It's certainly a sweet card (to the buyer, if you are interested in a couple of his Chrome Printing Plates let me know.)

If one were to compare the price to other Supers basing the comparison on the prices of the player's other cards, one would come to the conclusion that you overpaid. That said, the Super's are a whole different animal, and I hope you do real well on it.
