When will people start giving Mike Trout the love, or the attention that Bryce Harper receives. IMO both will be superstars, but Mike Trout no doubt will have a better career. What do you think? I am just glad that the Angels have finally realized they need to play this kid all the time and let him grow.

Question who will have the better overall career?

You don't happen to have "no doubt" as to what next week's winning lotto numbers are, do you?

As a Nats fan, I'm hoping Harper lives up to about 80% of the Hype. That should put him in the Hall of Fame and qualify him as the world's first Super Human. If Mike Trout has a great career, that's awesome too.

Mike Trout and remember this is my opinion will have a better career because the expectations are not as high as Bryce's, yes they are high, just not as high. Mike Trout will use his speed and produce better power, run production and average than Bryce. It is showing very early so far. Bryce's swing is too violent right now and is off his front foot too often which leads me to believe he will have leg problems.

1. Hype doesn't actually affect play. So maybe, if you were asking "Who will live up to their hype better" we would all say Trout because as you say the Hype levels are totally out of whack. But hype doesn't actually dictate how great a player is. If Bryce Harper ends up with slightly better numbers all around, then you wouldn't say Harper was a failure. You'd say he was better than Mike Trout and had a better career.

2. "too violent right now" Allow me to remind you, Bryce Harper is 19. Show me the player who had a perfect swing at 19. Forget that. Show me a player in the majors who had the SAME swing at 19 that he did throughout his career. It doesn't happen. Both of this guys have massive upside, and there is NOTHING you can tell about them now w/r/t the totallity of their careers. They still have to go through pitchers for the second and third time, where all players struggle, and we have no clue as to how they will adjust (Other than than both adjusted well in the minors).

Personally I hope they both live up to their potential and the hype it can only be good for the game.
Hopefully Trout vs Harper will be to baseball what Magic vs Bird was to the NBA.
As a Ranger fan though don't want to see Trout win to many World Series rings.

I just got back into collecting in 2009, has there been a more hyped rookie duo in the hobby?
Ichirio and Pujols in 2001 is the only that comes to mind.

I don't see the Nationals and Angels playing each other in the World Series multiple times and I definitely don't see a Harper/Trout musical heading to Broadway any time soon.

Harper has much better plate discipline, so that is who I voted for.
