Nolan Reimold just got called up to debut at the age of 26 years old.

Or the fact that Laporta delivered his first year in the minors until injury, delivered in college, delivered in the Cape League, was strong on Team USA and has a pretty decent resume of success.

Well, I could understand that argument last year, but being 23 years old in Double-A is a completely different story, because there are tons of very good prospects that play in AA as 23-year-olds (or sometimes even older).

For example, this guy named Matt LaPorta was 23 all of last year in AA...and Strieby is on pace to put up almost TWICE as many homeruns as LaPorta hit at the same level at the same age.

And leading the league in basically every important offensive category for a power hitter to me is pretty darn impressive.

I really shouldn't even be arguing for Strieby because his numbers speak for themselves.

The "late bloomers" might not put up the career totals ,but I still believe they can make enough impact in the bigs to profit on.

Chris Duncan, David Murphy, Nate McClouth, Ian Kinsler, Carlos Quentin, Ryan Howard, Ryan Ludwick, J.J. Hardy, Shane Victorino, Adam Lind, Alex Rios.

Obviously I have cards of the guy, but as a Tigers' fan, I'm rooting for him to be as good as possible.

I also can't stand hearing people say that "23 is too old for Double-A" because all that tells me is that they have no idea what they're talking about. Just because a guy went to college doesn't mean he doesn't have the ability to be a baseball star. Ever hear of Ryan Howard?

Wow such uproar over what I said. I said the other day, if he got an opportunity and raked right away at the MLB level he could be another Howard. I was just saying Eldred because he got hyped up for his guady power numbers and has just become an AAAA slugger.

But Ryan Howard DID happen, didn't he? Not saying that anyone is like Howard, and I really mean that, but I get tired of people assuming that once a player turns 22, they are a career minor leaguer.

For example, "JP Arencibia is heating up, he hit a home run tonight and he's hitting .220 with a bunch of strikeouts, but he has FOUR home runs!!!"

Ahh, you're right. I forgot ::facepalm:: Ill stop paying attention to guys who have decent all-around at bats.... Maybin and Burgess were both 1-5 and they sometimes hit hr's, thats as close as I got.
