Absolutely. He's finding his power stroke, has an OPS over .830, is hitting .333, and is still young and raw. This guy is going to be downright scary offensively.

with Romine's back as bad as it is, this has to only help him move up on the depth chart

Scouts.com hints at his defense improving if you check out this link. I can't find many reports regarding his defense and I am not a subscriber to read any further but they say he's been fantastic "on both sides of the ball".

Let's just hope his maturity on the scouting scale went from at least a 10 to a 20....cause my main knock on him is his maturity; especially for a catcher.

The only thing I don't like is the 8/48 BB/K ratio. If he was doing that at double-A at this age I wouldn't mind so much.

Not too concerning yet, but Javier Baez has yet to draw a walk between his appearances in GCL/NWL last year and his ~20 or so games in XST this year.

It's well known in his scouting reports that he is very aggressive at the plate and his plate discipline needs work.
