I strongly disagree with this.

Yeah Conor Jackson and his amazing plate discipline really helped him out long term. Everything has its place, I wish he had would draw a few more walks, but dude can flat out hit, bottom line.

Tyler Skaggs with 10 strikouts in 7 innings. Damn, this guy gets ZERO love. I just don't understand it.

For every player you can find in the lower minors that showed discipline and didn't work out I can find ten that showed poor discipline which led to a career as a defensive replacement or flat out not making it.

Having a great July after a horrid (to put it lightly) June. Here's his June line followed by July line:

July- .307, 24R, 12 2B, 5HR, 11RBI, 19BB, 18K, 1.044OPS

I have no idea what got into him in June, but I'm glad it seems to be over. He was swinging and missing... A LOT. Needless to say, I'm thrilled with his month of July.

I believe you meant a horrid June. As torrid is a synonym for boiling or red hot.
