another RBI single for Harper

.385/8/30 on the season now
This kid is amazing. But he'd be hitting .450 if it wasn't for that hitch.

You have been thanked.  Good times.

That hitch won't translate to the majors. It could carry him to AAA, maybe-but after that, the hitch will be his demise. ::facepalm::

LOL!! It's hard to catch up to pitches when your hitch makes you swing 1-2 seconds late! Imagine if Harper didn't have that 2 second delay, he could be hitting close to 1.000.

But seriously, I hope people realize and appreciate what Harper is doing right now. If his numbers are sustained for another month or so (and I think they could even get better), he'll be comparable to some of the A ball stats put up by some of the best in the game (Griffey, Rodriguez, etc). Based off of ISO, K%, BB% and age level, he really is displaying talent and skill development that only comes once in a generation. Go Bryce! Wish I could afford his cards!

Agreed. J.P, as much as you don't want to admit it, your opinion greatly affects many people's decisions on who they buy into on this board. I would not be surprised if some just Goofbay your Ebay account to figure out who to buy into. Even taking the sheep out of the equation most if not all prospectors on this board respect your opinion when it comes to prospects, so to say you don't have influence is crazy.

Good thing I created a second account, then.

There's a difference between respecting someone's opinions and worshipping them.

But to appease the naysayers (and stalkers), I'll shut up about who I invest in from this point forward. It's about time the hangers-on had their training wheels removed.

And its probably comments like that that led to his original statement in the first place I presume......

Harper is just toying with the Class A pitchers...not really a big challenge to him.

Also, does anyone think his AFLAC auto will ever reach $1K again after his 2011 Bowman is released?

Um yeah why not? There at 800-900 now. The hype will only continue to grow.

Wow, what's with all the J.P. bashing. I'm no crazy ass prospector or even big time collector, but J.P. is cool. I mean every day he starts this thread that goes 5 or 6 pages & tons of people read (not sure what job or girlfriend/family he has cause I can hardly do anything with my little ones around). I don't see anyone else do this. In fact I think last year someone was good enough to do a summary of best of the day before games & they must be like many other people - busy now so it's gone. Heck J.P. is nice enough to share his homework with a list each year & guess what you don't need to read it or his threads if you don't want to. Give him a break. He likes this stuff & he's into it - that's all.

In full disclosure: I do not own any of J.Ps cards, hell I don't even know him. Maybe I could even like him, unless being form Il he voted for Obama

Joe Wieland is having another good start - 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
He ended up going one more inning for the complete game shutout(Doubleheader).
No big K total this time but the Rangers will take it.
Mike Olt -Combined 0-4.

Anybody know what is up with Javier Rodriguez?
He was pulled in the middle of a game the other day and now they show him assigned back to extended spring?

The comments came after he took exception to someone posting updated stats of guys Jaypers had already listed in the thread. For instance, "Joe Schmo HR(5)", and the other guy would put "Joe Schmo, 2-5, HR, 2 RBI" later on. And Jaypers posted he should bold his posts so the other person didn't repost or whatever. Sorry, but that seems a little self-serving. It's a message board, so it's always hard to say things the way you want them to be taken. It was like someone establishing their territory or something, that is the way I took it. Again, it's hard to know what someone means on a message board, I am just saying the way I took it.

Another question is will his USA Chrome get a premium vs his bowman chrome in Bowman. I can see the USA to be a great card to have.

They definitely will IMO. They have held up and basically become an established commodity in the prospecting world, even after he had more cards released. The chromes will probably still get at least $10+ apiece, but nowhere near the $50+ USA Chromes are bringing.

I think Harper pre-ordered about 50 cases of 2011 Bowman, he's really trying to maximize his return.
