I know we did this with Justin Upton and then again with Maybin and if both cases, i was slammed for stating those players needed to learn plate discipline at the lower levels of the minors. How has that worked out for those two players?

Let the kid get a couple of hundred at bats and learn to control the strike zone.

In both of those cases, they spent virtually no time at AAA; they were called up to the Majors almost immediately from AA.

I'm not saying they should do the same with Stanton; I think they should give him a few hundred AB's in the Big Easy.

Stanton is in such a ZONE right now that anything anyone pitches to him is just going to be hit hard and sent waaaaaaaay out of the park!

Anyone think his Gold Ref Auto will hit $1K???

Jeff Allison threw 5 innings and gave up only 1 hit, with no walks.

Odorizzi so far -- 3 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 5 K

And yes I do, Lyonel.

not worth starting a new post, so I'll put it here:

Brandon Hicks called up to Atlanta, Yunel to the DL (Infante likely to see most of the playing time)... I had a ton of Hicks '07 elite stuff, moved most of it when he got a chrome auto/ got promoted to AA but left his bat behind, but still have the Black Status 1/1 hoping to see him do well regardless

Seems like his Elites are finally starting to get a bump in prices. Might be time to list a few soon.

a little look at Stanton's stats... through 111 PA [not including today's]

Stanton is ISOPing .512…. let me rephrase that: .512

and he has another home run today.
last year in AA : 9.1 BB%, 29.1 K%
this year in AA: 22.5 BB%, 21.6 K%

he is showing real improvement in cutting down his K’s… his BB% is rising faster than my boner, and his power is otherworldly. his wOBA right now is .515 …. he is putting up high school numbers in the Southern League, and he will be 20 years old this entire season.

Me LIKEY! 2HRs in 2 days! Are we seeing a Stanton-esque streak here? :D :D

Grichuk also with a 3R homer. 2 in 2 for him as well. Fourth on year.

Grichuk is getting hot, he's 5 for 12 with 3 homers and 9 RBI in the last three games.
