I am very wary of Stanton still, will he be the next Winfield or could he be the next Wood. Remember Wood was the last guy to hit for power like Stanton in the minors and look what happened to him.

Wood never hit for the type of power Stanton has, outside the Cal League. He and Stanton aren't that comparable numbers wise.

Actually check Wood's numbers the year after the Cal League, very comparable to Stanton's 2009 numbers.

Wood hit 58 HR's in 2005 and hit 14 in the AFL and continued to rip the cover off the ball for team USA.

So you want me to compare Wood's numbers as a 21 year old playing the full season in AA, to Stanton's half a season in AA as a 19 year old?

Also, the AFL is kind of a lateral move from the Cal League, soooo. Wood and Stanton just aren't that comparable.

I'd still give Stanton 100 AB's in AAA. Montero went gangbusters on AA and now he's scuffling in AAA.

The thing that impresses me most about Trout is his base stealing ability. Maybe he's just more advanced of a baserunner than pitchers are at holding runners in this league, but geez, he gets on 1st and it seems like half the time he swipes 2nd. And sometimes (like tonight), he'll just go ahead and swipe 3rd too. A guy that hits for this much average, with a little pop, and also can steal 50 bases in a season is an incredibly dangerous player.

Future is looking bright for this kid.

I bet it would be fun to be at the Fresno/Las Vegas game tonight...well not if you are a pitcher.

14-10 in the 6th inning.
