I'll be looking to see how Adam Warren can follow up on his complete game, 6H 7K shutout last time out. He's up against Ross Detwiler and the Chiefs today.

and even though it's TBD on MiLB, I suspect Taillon will be going against Greensboro in on game of West Virginia's double-header tonight.

Gonna be a good night of listening to baseball tonight. :)

Taillon 1.0, 0H, 2K

2.0, 0H, 4K

Seems like the only hits Taillon has got over his last few outings have been dribblers. Gave up an infield single on a slow dribbler to short.

He's consistently hitting 93-94 with what's being called "such a smooth delivery, it looks like he's throwing 80 [based on effort]." He's burning these guys. 80-90% fastballs this time out, finding the strike zone effortlessly.

I really like the way this guy throws. He's going to be something special.

Taillon's just getting nasty now. Changing speeds, changing pitches, nasty. Still pumping 94 MPH fastballs, 82 on the changeup, and a nasty curve. Just nasty nastiness.

4.0 2H 7K

Uh oh, Taillon with a mistake high fastball. Solo homer to left given up. Still a great outing, but the manager isn't even going to let him finish the inning. Ugh.

I dont understand that at all!! 5th inning 1 ER 3 HITS and 7KS and he won't let him finish the inning. I understand the pitch limit for him and stuff but just let him finish the inning! But what do I know im just a kid...

If you understood the pitch limit like you say youd get it.

The minor leagues are far less about performance and have a much heavier emphasis on development. You can be sure that with Pittsburg track record of not developing young pitchers they have put countless of hours thinking about how they will develop Taillon and in the future Cole. I think ownership and management could care less if he got the win or not today in A ball.

But my cards care!  I think taillon and cole will both thrive in the minors and in the majors and be the 1-2 starters.

Our own Ben (topprospectalert) is at the game. He reports Harper was taking part in warmups earlier.
