Goldschmidt did what he does best - he just blasted a HR in the SL all-star game.

Henderson Alvarez - 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K

I don't know that I've ever seen a Jays pitcher rocket up the prospect list quite like Alvarez. At this point I wouldn't be shocked to see him get a September call-up. He's gone berserk, hitting 98. And he's one of the youngest guys in AA.

Chris Dennis puts the West on the board with a HR in the MWL AS game.

And every Western pitcher had 2K in their inning except Rosenthal, who was perfect anyway.

Adonis Cardona vs. Luis Heredia in the GCL = great matchup. Two hyped kids making their pro debuts.

Cardona wins.

Cardona - 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K

Heredia - 2.2 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 0

Also:

Bigtime Braves sleeper - Jean Carlos Gil (great numbers last year)

Today - 5 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 8 K

Wanted more from Heredia, but can't complain. Youngest player of his division and skipped Dominican or Venezuelan league.

That might be his MLB role, but don't fix what isn't broke, he's been stellar for St. Lucie all year as a starter, you could even argue he's been better than Matt Harvey.

I've followed Gorski since he's been drafted and it's been fun to watch him. But I think if he advances, he gets moved back to reliever and gets put on the fast track.
