Nice to see Sano heating up

Not on the field, though. He's committed FOUR errors tonight. ::facepalm::

Cowart 2-3, 2B, RBI.. now hitting .545 for Orem.

He keeps this up and he'll be in Cedar Rapids in no time.

Kipnis went yard again. (11)

The kid is straight up raking. The Indians have an impending decision to make at 2nd base with he and Cord Phelps. Kipnis has to have the edge, but one or the other could be trade bait soon enough.

[quote="Jaypers":30aym9me]Holmberg continues to roll. Promote him to Visalia. - 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K

He has not given up a single run, earned or otherwise, since May 22nd.

His line over the past 5 starts -- 34 IP, 10 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 31 K

Time to partner him up with Skaggs, already.

Why are his cards so damn cheap?!

NO clue, he is the hottest pitcher in all of baseball yet is getting ZERO love. I don't understand it one bit.

Maybe it's because no one is pimpin him here like Taijuan or other "hot" prospects lately...

Edited for pitcher confusion, lol.

Taijuan Ks more guys. While Holmberg's K/9 is under 9 (still very good), Taijuan's is over 11. His GO/AO is also almost twice what Holmberg's is, which to me is a key indicator that he's consciously pitching down in the zone to hitters.

I like Taijuan over Holmberg, but Holmberg is great.

The funny part is that David Holmberg is outpitching Taijuan without a doubt....[/quote:1kypgy92]

The funny part is that David Holmberg is almost 23 in Hi-A and Taijuan is almost 19 in A ball.

Taijuan has almost three times' better GO/AO (2.55 to .90)

..and a better K/9 (11.52) than Thornburg (10.02).

Thornburg is 5'11", Taijuan is 6'4".

Thornburg is closer to his respective ceiling than is Walker.

Need I say more?[/quote:1kypgy92]

Hey brother, you are getting Holmberg confused with Thornburg. Holmberg is 19, almost 20, and is in Low A with Taijuan.

I think you were referring to Thornburg the whole post, right?

Grandal 2-5, 2B, 3 RBI... hitting .364 for Carolina now.

Mesoraco who?

You may want to check the stats.

Mesoraco is absolutely killing triple A, to the tune of .315 avg, 28 2B, 1 3B, 8 HR, 46 RBI, 32 BB/50 K, .395 OBP, .920 OPS

Grandal is having a nice season, yes-but Mesoraco is doing it in AAA, and Mesoraco is just 5 months older.

Is it time to get a little excited about Kyle Blanks again? So far in 18 games in AAA, he's hitting .382 8(2b) 2(3b) 5HR 14RBI

I think he still has potential and could definitely help the Padres out in the power department and some point this year. Hopefully he can hit a breaking ball this go around.

Kevin Frickin Keyes with 2 more HR's last night for Hagerstown including the GW in the 14th inning.

Starting to find his stroke, now has 7 HR's in his last 8 games. En Fuego

I was being sarcastic.

But yes, the Reds would be stupid if they got rid of one of these guys based on position.
