Scary moment though the Catcher Mark Wagner threw down to second and skimmed it and it came up and caught Travis on the Neck but stayed in the game....PHEW!

Clay Buchholz 5 innings of 1 run ball in Toronto...probably has another inning in him before getting sent back to Pawtucket.

Morrison 2-2 2 RBI 2BB
Rondon pitches another excellent game in his 2nd AAA start. most under appreciated pitching prospect imo.

Rondon is legit, yet I can't even give away his gold refractors for some reason......

His prices took a HUGE dip after people thought he would be an auto in 2009 BCDP, and they have never fully recovered.

Speaking of under-appreciated pitching prospects:

Jhoulys Chacin: 6 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 4 SO, 3 BB

I truly think Chacin is going to have to put some number that "pop" to get the love. The record is "ok", less strikeouts than innings pitched, and a 3.46 ERA. Everything he has done has been very solid, and I like him as a prospect. BUt he isn't doing anything to seperate himself statistically.

He has preformed worse than last year, but I still think his machine like consistency will be his calling card when he reaches the bigs. His GB rate is insane (just like last year), and I would wager that his changeup is the best in the minors.

Keep in mind that he is also producing his numbers in the Texas League where the average ERA is 4.39. In the Eastern League, where Rondon pitched, the average ERA is 3.90.

There was this in a recent BA article...

Harvey said Chacin’s fastball and changeup are both above-average offerings and his curveball shows flashes of being an above-average pitch, as well. This year, more so than last year, Chacin has really been focusing on his two-seam fastball. He’s still learning how to locate the pitch, which has caused him to walk more batters and pitch in more hitter’s counts. Harvey said Chacin still needs to trust the pitch, but right now he’s still throwing it for the outside corner versus lefthanded batters and oftentimes it’s breaking away for a ball.

Jennings 2-4 tonight, with 2 more steals (35 total).

He is now 12 for his last 23.
