Is he really not using his fastball? Did someone say that's why his K's are down?

Whoever said that does not know baseball. :? I am serious.

Do you guys really think he isn't using his fastball? Please tell me that you are joking. That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

Is he using his breaking pitches a little more? 10% more? That is definitely possible....

But please, please, please realize that the Giants are not nearly dumb enough to have him throw anything less than 50% fastballs in any given start.

The giants as a whole are excellent at grooming pitchers, they aren't going to screw up Madbum...

He is using his fastball much less than he would. his pitches are like 65% breaking pitches and 35% fastballs right now, because the Giants want him to develop better breaking pitches.

He was throwing almost all fastballs last year so the fact that he may be 50/50 actually disproves your own point. He isnt striking as many people out because the Giants are a good organization and letting their players develop secondary pitches in the minors...
