Bumgarner giving up lots of ground ball singles. At least he's picked off one of the runners. But it's not looking good. 25 pitches and only one down.

Scott Kazmir going tonight for RC, still can't find P.J. Phillips on any roster ::facepalm::

PJ is on the RC's DL and is at extended ST

Well at least one of the ground balls found a glove, for the double play. Pretty hairy first inning though.

Thanks...I can't wait to see how he does this year with the transition to OF. Any idea why he is on the DL?

He walked in the 9th on 4 straight balls...what's up are they scared to throw strikes to him??!

Catcher Tommy Joseph 3-4 with a HR & 5 RBI during the completion of the first game. He's DH in the second game and is 1-3 with a BB and another RBI. Good start to his pro career.
SWEET!

Can he play 1B?

Rough night for Bumgarner. 3.0 innings, 79 pitches, 11 hits, 4 R, 2 BB, 2 SO, 1 HR by Brandon Allen. 7 of the hits he gave up were ground ball singles. Which seems odd to me.

Posey hit by a pitch again tonight. That's two in two games.

I was at the rockhounds game with Walden. He looked okay to me. Not great, but alright. Wind kind of sucked tonight

I wonder what the excuse will be for Bumgarner now? I also wonder if he really broke 90mph

Yes they are scared to pitch to him! Heyward is on fire since ST....Stanton is MORE on fire then Heyward since the AFL! Stanton has been SCORCHING the AFL, Spring Training, Minors...a 3 way star who just started dedicating himself to baseball 2 years ago, the scary thing is he is adjusting...wait no....EVOLVING...into one of the most feared hitters in the game! I still think he has potential to steal 25+ bases to boot. His home runs are clearing the fence by 30-40 feet minimum....I am so excited about this kid, to see how he develops! Wait until 2 months into the season, if he is batting over .300 as a 20 yr old in AA or AAA with that power...OMFG just wait!

In Arizona I was at the Reds minor league facility and I was watching the AA and AAA games. Orlando Cabrera and Brandon Phillips came down to the minor league fields to get some at bats, when I looked over after I grabbed both of their signatures Brandon was talking to a dude in a sling and sure enough it was PJ, I asked him what happened and he told me that he broke his colar bone. Hope this helps..As far as Kazmir's start tonight in Rancho, I was there he looked great, went mainly with the offspeed stuff, his fastball was not overpowering at all but he located well and was a efficient, worked well with men on base and gave his team a chance to win.

yep, bumgarner is terrible... and i'm a ***** for not putting him lower than 28th on my list. where's darocker now? still drinking the kool-aid, or strangely silent? he's been working at 86-88 all spring and straight into april. have fun with your future 7th inning lefty. he's not even a top 150 prospect right now.

Some previously mentioned busts (besides Barnese) had decent nights last night:
Kellen Kulbacki 2/4 3RBI
Nick Barnese W 6.1IP 2H 2R 1BB 5K
Brian Dopirak 2/4 4RBI
Michael Burgess 3/5 1 2B 1RBI

Michael Main: 6.0 IP 2ER 5H 1BB 4K 2HR

Ross Seaton: 5.0 IP 7H 0BB 0ER 2K

I'm still a believer in Main even after his wretched season last year. I really happy to only see that he only had one walk, and that he also only gave up 3H (not including the two solo shots) as control and getting hit a lot was one of his biggest problems last year.

Solid Start for Seaton, but hopefully hitters wont hit .350 against him every start. I really like this kid, I think he could be better than Jordan Lyles. (and I also like Lyles)

This guy can flat out rake. He was never a bust, just a career minor leaguer.
