Not a fan of his, seen him play yesterday. Does not have good bat speed and just looks like he's going to end up being one of those AAAA sluggers.

He went 2-3 with 2 walks yesterday and you came to this conclusion?[/quote:1sae0qpp]

Didn't see a lot of pop in his swing, and like I said his bat speed was very average.

Michael Taylor- 2-for-3, Run, 2B, RBI, 3SB  , .343 avg!!! :D

Edit: Little tidbit- the first Reading Phil to steal 3 base's in a game since M.Bourn (M.Taylor's first time to steal 3 in 1 game)!!! Big man can scoot! :D

Definitely not Howardesque.

Not "Howardesque", but definitely not a negative (especially when most everything else about Taylor is comparable to R.Howard...just think how incredible R.Howard would be if he had "wheels")! :o

Here comes the next #1 on BA's Hot Sheet (Brian Matusz)!!!

"W" 8ip, 1-hit, 0R, 0ER, 0BB, 11K's & only a measley 0.34 ERA in AA thus far in 4 games (BTW he's won ALL 4 games)!!!  :o

On a different note, M.Taylor belted yet another 2B & his line looks like this so far tonight:
3-for-4, 1R, 2-2B's, 2RBI's, BB, 3SB's, & .345 avg on the year!!! :D

Well apparently he had enough pop last year to hit 29 homers despite missing 6 weeks and apparently he has enough pop to have 16 homers before the all star break. His plate discipline has been a lot better this year too as he has already taken 46 walks this year matching his total of last season.

I'm a fan.

Still no Barnese mention?

Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Barnese 5.0 5 0 0 3 3 0 1.09

He's only given up runs in three of his seven starts this year, and never more than two in one game.

And yet a Red Refractor RC of him ended at less than $75 earlier tonight.

Hmmm.....

Hmmm.....

The red ref had some peeling on the back I believe. Probably why it ended so low.

Yeah, that's why it ended low. It used to belong to a board member here (caseum), and it was tempting, but I just can't bring myself to love a damaged card lol. Barnese has done very well in terms of ERA and taking care of the runners on base, but his K-BB ratio isn't really there yet.

Yes it used to be mine. I sold it to another board member who just now sold it. Even if there are only 5, the damage drastically made the card difficult to move.

It's probably because of the lack of K's that his SV's aren't higher....I'm not saying he isn't a good pitcher (not in the least), it's just that he's in Low-A (correct?) & he's not K'ing many hitter's, even if they're not hitting him well... It seems high strikeout's for pitcher's & the longball for hitter's are big factor's when discussing SV.?.? :D
