RIP, Minnie. I've met him many times at Soxfest in Chicago. He was a good ambassador for the Sox.

RIP to a white Sox Legend. He will be missed. Baseballs and Chicago's first black/latino star. He hit a two-run home run in his first at-bat when he became major league baseball's first black player in Chicago in 1951.

He was the Jackie Robinson for Latino players.

Maine of course......
Wow, sad news. I thought I just saw an article on Minnie that he was doing well. He missed HOF induction by four votes on the Veteran's ballot late last year. RIP......:(

RIP Minnie Minoso

Besides all his MLB feats he is remembered in my hometown of Hermosillo as a great player-manager. He even won a batting tittle in the Mexican Pacific League in his late 40s
