Lots of great young pitchers getting the nod today, here are some notables:

Brett Cecil--ML Debut
Rick Porcello
Joba Chamberlain
Chris Volstad
Max Scherzer

Other notables include:

Tim Lincecum
Matt Garza
Roy Oswalt
Gavin Floyd
Josh Beckett

Shaping up to be a great day of baseball. Can't wait.

the Pirates and Brewers play at 7pm and the Brew Crew will be going for their 17th straight win over the Pirates. hopefully Ian Snell can pitch a complete game so the bullpen doesn't give away another win like last night.

Volquez for the Reds Vs Volstad.......going to be a great matchup.

Volquez pitched a one hitter last game out, 1.89 ERA his last 20 innings.

I watched Cameron Maybin play last night.....he is the worst major leaguer I have seen a while.

Cecil is looking good. There defense is horrible(not sure if that is the norm or not). Travis Snider butchered a ball hit to him that let a a run score.

Also two hitter batters. Laporta and Shoppach. Laporta didn't move much(which would have been a borderline call) but Shoppach leaned into one, there was no doubt about it.

Toronto's defense is one of the best in the league but they sure let Cecil down in the second.

And yeah, Shoppach intentionally got in the way of that one.

shoppach might pay the piper for that one later in game/series.

Zimmerman's hit streak continues with an RBI double.

Very impressive.

To how many games?

Victor bumped his hitting streak to 14, raised his average to .383 and put the Tribe in the lead (for the second straight game).

23 games I believe.

You have to be happy about Martinez's start.

I think it is time for Travis Snider to be moved up in the batting order, he is just wasting away at #9.

Oswalt out with a bone bruise on his pitching hand. How serious is that? He has had some terrible luck this year.
