Nice list overall, lots of quality SS depth up and coming these days.

One thing that bothers me...Bogaerts and Correa with the same 70 power grade they gave Baez? Baez hit 37 homers last year while Bogaerts hit 16 and Correa hit 9. He had 12 more homers than the other two combined lol. What am I missing?

Nice to see Chris Owings on that list. Although l feel like he is underrated, I've seen him play in person and his defense is amazing!

So, here was his explanation, which is a joke. 70 power is 35 Homeruns a year in the bigs. I would be absolutely SHOCKED if either Bogaerts or Correa get there. Now, anything is possible, but that would be shocking.

@thenextlevel42Remember, these are future grades... meaning what we feel these players could do at the major league level once they've reached their full potential (I guess there's always an 'if' involved there). Baez definitely has shown more now over-the-fence power than Bogaerts and Correa. But we are projecting that the trio will be about the same in terms of power when all is said and done. Power is often the last tool to come in terms of it showing up in the box score, so just because one is doing it now and the other two aren't as much doesn't necessarily mean they won't all hit plenty of long balls in the big leagues.

If Javier Baez could draw a respectable amount of BB's, it'd be a toss up for me between him and Bogaerts. The bad speed is simply unreal to me.

Yeah that was me asking about that on MLB, and I'm with you that it would be a pretty big surprise if either of those two guys hit 35+. I think Xander will be a 20-25HR guy which is a huge total for a SS, but 35+ doesn't seem likely. Correa is still young and has a long way to go, but I don't see him even having the power Bogaerts has. Baez has already shown he can hit 37 homers in 130 games, so why not 40+ over the course of a 162 game season? Not sure how they can put the power of Correa/Bogaerts on the same level as that of Baez.

J.P., if you had to take one player off this list, who would it be? I know Glasnow was #11 , but he definitely deserves to be on this list. Why do you think he was left off? High walk rate?

Probably because he played the whole year at Low-A and, as you say, inconsistent command.

I'm surprised at Giolito's omission, but as he didn't get to play much I understand why. His potential is way up there.

I disagree. Hedges has the best pure baseball value and the highest ceiling in the bunch. His defense is out of control and was MLB ready last year. His bat will determine whether he is an all star or a defensive specialist. Either way, it's probably safe to say he will have the longest MLB career based on his D.

I'm not knocking hedges, have many autos myself bought on the very cheap, but he's essentially brad ausmus.

While Sanchez is shaping up to be a slugging good defensive catcher.

Yeah, Hedges was the one I thought coulda been a notch or two lower. Sanchez clearly has the better bat and his defense is likely to play at least average, not even considering his arm. I take Posada over Ausmus any day.
