Why? Raw power, good plate discipline, very young and projectable.

Brett Jackson made it and he doesn't have/project to above average power OR plate discipline.

The list was made by MLB scouts, Sale has zero pro experience where as Jackson does, he also has college, and Cape League experience. He isn't totally projection. He hit almost .300 overall last year in Minors.

You make a great point in your first sentence that I completely overlooked.

That being said, Ben Revere hit .305 in 2010 in the MiLB. I know, apples to oranges, but average isn't everything.

Don't feel dumb, I think everyone takes these lists way too personally. The MLB Network one gets dumped on a lot, but it is legit scouts who earn their living watching baseball that make the list. I agree, but the only reason I have a card is that it was a chrome auto for half of ebay value, so i bought it. Then I looked up his scouting reports and I must say, he looks like a stud (no ****).

I'm not swayed by that piddly investment. I just honestly think he's good, but like you said it's mlb scouts ranking primarily on performance so any argument for a guy like Sale is moot as it pertains to this particular list.

I've never seen someone who gets so butt hurt when someone else disagrees with them in my life. Also, last time I checked, there isn't a Joshua.Roundtree Guide to Prospecting book floating around at my local book store yet I don't give you hell for you opinions on here). I don't get it. From what I've seen, that is far from the case.

For the last handful of months, he has continuously said to buy, buy, buy Mike Trout. Was that "pimping his guys"? I would say that was advising others to "see the light" so to say. I don't see him pimping his guys on here one bit-but I don't read all the threads, either.

I have a big Montero stash-and this list doesn't worry me one bit. He will be a top 5 prospect by BA, which carries a ton more wait than this list. Either way, whatever Montero is ranked isn't going to be the driver of his stuff-it will be how he does in ST. Montero at 9, in my opinion, is a joke. But, that's just me.

Geez, it's baseball cards. Nobody on here is on that top 50 list, and defending their own name. Who cares if a player isn't where you think he should be. THEY get paid to make their list, and it will be quite different from the BA list. Either way, arguing over slot placement is just a waste of time.

People can be pissed off about Sano, but this is the true crime. There are some that could very easily argue that Flores because of his age, level, and skills pertaining to his age was a top 20 guy last season.

Trout, Harper, Lamb, Ackersley and some others do appear to be the real deal. Even low ranking Hicks has plenty of major league tallent!!! Some others, Im not so sure of.
