Some injury news on Alex Gonzalez & Jayson Werth:
Brewers assistant GM Gord Ash confirmed Monday that Alex Gonzalez (knee) is out for the rest of the season.

Gonzalez has been diagnosed with a torn ACL in his right knee and is expected to undergo surgery in about a week. The 35-year-old batted .259/.326/.457 with four home runs and 15 RBI in 89 plate appearances for the Brewers this season. Cesar Izturis is likely to fill in at shortstop unless the Brewers can find someone better.

Jayson Werth underwent left wrist surgery on Monday and is now expected to miss at least 12 weeks.

The Nationals initially guessed a six-week timetable for Werth after he suffered a broken left wrist on Sunday night. But the injury is actually much worse. It's a tough blow to the Nationals, who are currently in first place in the National League East. Tyler Moore seems likely to take on a more involved role. Oh, and in case this wasn't already established, Bryce Harper is here to stay.

Former O's draft pick Brandon Snyder puts the Rangers on top of O's 2-0.

Will Middlebrooks, 3 run poke opposite field shot. Barely got the bat on it and it barely went fair above the 330ish mark in RF

Sold out of his stuff already but made an absurd ROI so I'm not looking back. And ended up snagging him in my yearly fantasy league and keeper league

Samardzija with another solid outing and another win. 4-1 now. I am completely shocked by how well he has pitched. Hope he keeps it going. Cubs have actually had really good starting pitching so far this year. Inching closer and closer to .500 . I know I didn't share the same optimism as some of our other Cubs fans on the board, but I am happy to see they are playing hard for Coach Sveum.

Yonder Alonso continues his torrid stretch. 2-2 with 2 RBI tonight. Dating to 4/25, he is 17-42 (.404) with 7 2B. Would be nice for his stuff to start to take off. Finding his groove after hitting just .196 through 4/24 where he was only 11-56 (.196) with 3 2B.

Has his average up over .280 now
