Ironically, it's the same basic reason. Hawaii 5-0, the Original show. Cop TV show from the 70s with Jack Lord saying "Book him Dan-o".

Victorino is from Hawaii, the 50th State and rumor is an coach in the Minors named him that, he even wore 50 for awhile in the LA system. Better than "The Flyin' Hawaiin" at least.

BTW, he did a small role in the new "5-0"...

And "The Wire" guys say that "5-0, 5-0" comes from people using that after the show came out...
