How can one possibly watch every MLB game in a season? Do they mean for one team (the Yankees)?

they put you up in NYC in a place I assume that has multiple TVs

Damn, there would be times with 10+ games going? And having to constantly blog and "vlog"? I think I would vomit baseball for a year and end up hating the game if I had this gig.

unless there is some serious compensation, it just sounds like a hugely time-consuming pain in the ass

What a stellar idea. I can't wait to read that blog. It'll devolve into psychosis and insanity faster than Jack Torrance writing his novel at the Overlook Hotel

Imagine one of those Western Pacific time zone games that goes for 15 innings and ends at 4 AM and then there is a 1 PM game, that would suck...

Can any one find an ending date on that? I have a friend who might want to apply and want to give him a heads up if there is still time.

That's what I want to know. I'd apply if I got paid. No way I'm doing it for free.

they call it a full-time job, so I am guessing you get paid like it's a full-time job.

This is my favorite part:

"I understand and agree that blood and/or urine tests may be conducted periodically during my employment to determine or rule out the presence of illegal substances and that positive test results may result in my dismissal or require appropriate evaluation and treatment under the Baseball Entity's employee assistance program and, as applicable, Major League Baseball's Drug Policy and Prevention Program. I release all Baseball Entities from any and all liability resulting from such tests, evaluations or treatment."

My guess is in about 2 weeks or less. they probably want to interview candidates and get the person set up in NY before the season starts at the end of March.

I'm picturing Alex during the Ludovico Technique from A Clockwork Orange.

after you fill out the application, this is the next step.

Thank you for applying for the MLB 2011 Dream Job.
Please relax in the bullpen while we review your submission.

Dream Job: Video Upload
In two minutes, tell us why you are the most entertaining baseball fan in the country and deserve to have this Dream Job.

Make sure to tell us the answers to these questions:

•Your name, age, where you live and your current occupation.
•Tell us a little bit about who you are, what is going on in your life.
•Tell us why you love baseball.
•Why do you think you'd be perfect for MLB's Ultimate Dream Job?
•What relevant experience do you have?/ Why are you a baseball expert
Things to think about when filming

DISTANCE
Try not to be more than 10 feet away from the camera, as the sound will be too faint.

LIGHTING
Make sure the room in which you film is well-lit. Turn on some lights, as the camera will not see as much daylight as your eyes do.

FRAMING
Position yourself so that your head and shoulders/the upper half of your body fill the frame or viewfinder.

NOISE
Make sure you are in an environment where your voice will be audible. (IMPORTANT: You must turn OFF any music, TV radio, or other noises around you.)

Videos must be in ASAP, the sooner the better, but deadline is Tuesday March 1, 2011.

Thats my birthday LOL, I just posted it for you all becaus eof the deadline.
