A few of the young MLB studs are playing..

Fernando Martintez just got a nice double after the umpires blew the balls/strikes count.. He should have been on first with a walk, but got a double as they pitched to him..

Great young talent... and it's live baseball!!

Been trying to, but I just can't get into it for whatever reason...

Same here. Guess its because im still in football mode. That and the Dominican Republic has no one playing for them doesnt help either.

Mexico plays Venezuela at 7:30 P.M. Any big name players going to be in it?

Our starter isn't a big name outside of Mexico but we have ex-MLB in our lineup: Chris Roberson, Vinny Castilla, Karim Garcia, Humberto Cota, Ruben Rivera. Current MLB is Luis Cruz.
I don't think Venezuela is carrying someone big, that's why I thought Mexico had a really good chance of winnings this thing, but after winning the first game against the locals, they have blew it losing two in a row. Let's see if we can beat Venezuela again to keep mathematical hope alive.

Vinny Castilla

Castilla looked great in the game I saw (he went 2-4 against Venezuela, I believe.) Nice to see him playing again. The steal of home in yesterday's DR/Ven. game was awesome.

The 42 year old Castilla just hit a walk-off double in the tenth to give Mexico a 3 - 2 win over the local Venezuela :D

P.S. One of those hits you mentioned was a homer =)

Vinny is on fire! I was cheering for him to hit another homer when he came up to bat in the 10th. I'll take the double. :)

I hope his knees are holding up ok. During the regular season he used to take days off from time to time. I just hope he can play the six games of this tournament because without him the offense is completely dead.
