Re: MLB Spring Training Thread - 4/1

Doug Fister is on the mound for Detroit.

It may be surprising considering some of the names listed, but without looking, I'd guess Fister has better numbers from the day he became a Tiger last year all the way through this Spring than any name listed in the OP of this thread over the same time period. The guy is tough.

That was probably the same time he started drinking AdvoCare Spark.

I think that's the only logical explanation.

Yessss! Just hit his THIRD jack of the day! 6 RBI total. And he could very well get another AB, as they're in the 7th. 8-)

I always liked Fister, thanks Theo Epstein for getting Eric Bedard last year instead of Fister.

The funny thing is EVERY Detroit fan said I was crazy when I said the M's should target Nick Castellanos in a trade, actually everyone here in general. Turns out Castellanos probably wouldn't have been enough.

Ah, found one thread

Did they try to see how ugly they could make the new Marlins?

That thing in CF.
Lime Green Fences
Orange Uniforms.

I like the ORANGE uniforms. I think they are Dolphinesque. However that thing in CF is just wrong for baseball.

But the Orange Uniforms clash with the horrific green fences.

Yes, because Dombrowski repeatedly said Castellanos wasn't being moved.

If it was a big time name, maybe Castellanos would be involved-but Fister was not a big name at all when traded. He performed VERY well for us.

You can "target" anyone you want, but realistically Castellanos just wasn't going to be part of a deal for Fister and Pauley.

The funniest part was people saying the PTBL was Castellanos. ::facepalm::  ::facepalm::
