Learn from your mistake... it is your man's den... You left it unprotected. next time you have a fight...put her on the porch and watch some tv.

Anyone else think of Flintstones with this quote?

I will admit that I do spend ALOT of time with this business (it IS a business for me, sorry hobby purists), but I know that my sales have helped us during hard times.

Though my wife and I spat, she has enough respect for me to not do anything to my cards.

Going to the "Allowance" thing, we are pretty free with our money. She stays at home with our three kids, so if she wants something, I usually don't say no. She isn't really high maintenance or anything.

I use the cigarette argument sometimes when I get tired of her comments about the cards. Usually shuts her up.

Even if this actually happened, which as mentioned before I doubt, there is never a time or a place for violence towards women.

I'll agree to that but I don't recall anyone seriously saying he need to act violently towards her. IMO...sometimes women do the crap they do because they figure a man won't hit them. I hate that. Not only is it true but its almost like a child doing something because they know they can get away with it. Its all the more irritating.

I don't know. I just like a fair game. That's all. I don't feel like men get that all the time.

Glad that's working for ya Eddie. Apparently I am am expected to believe that we(and I am quoting here) need purses and new dresses and shoes all the time. We do not need new cards ever. Cards are a want not a need. New shoes every month are a need not a want. Got it? ::facepalm::

I'm thinking you meant to say cards are a WANT, not a NEED. :^)

The violence towards women part of the thread is it's own separate issue. Brian's history of lies is of far more of a concern to me.

WOW...Its a damn shame really. I have never had to worry about anything of that sort. I dont buy too much wax, and most of my PC has come from trades or purchases made from cards sold, so my lady never gets upset about it. Also she encourages me to search for money making cards at flea markets and auctions. I have never bought something that I couldnt flip quickly, and if I have it was never intended to be resold anyway.

Basically, I dont screw with my/our household money and therefore my cards never become an issue.

Anyone who has been collecting cards or other hobby items for awhile and has been married, has had issues like this at some point..

Growing up my dad had (emphasis on the word "had") a 1957 Chevy that he was working on and she would complain about it being in the yard.. something about it being clutter.. They used to have guys drive by and ask if it was for sale, and the reply was no, that my dad was working on it.. Well...

He was gone hunting or on a trip and my mom was pissed at my dad for some reason.. A guy stopped by to ask and my mom gave him the car.. Yes, she gave him the car!!!.. Yes, my dad was upset, but he knew that he could get another car if he wanted to, but a wife was more valuable... (it was the late 60's, so the 57' wasn't as valuable as it would be today)..

When I moved out my mom felt I didn't need my cards anymore either (football, baseball, basketball)... Yes they were valuable, and she still apologizes to me still to this day, but it is still cardboard and can be replaced..

Good luck with your relationships and your collections..

Anyone else having a hard time believing this story? Granted there is very little that Brian Crotts ever says that I believe due to past experiences, but it seems odd that she'd give away only the cards in his signature. Plus, if she were really that mad, why not destroy the cards instead of just giving them away? If my GF were mad enough at me to go after my cards, she wouldn't go giving them away, she'd either cut up, torch, or douse them.

I assume he'll have a new eBay account and he'll be selling them under the name Wayne Rodriguez...then he'll ask for people to loan him the money to win them back...at all costs...the over/under, I don't know...but I was watching this thread from afar just to see what happens.

Not all cardboard can be replaced!!!

For some reason your car story reminded me of Ferris Bueller's day off where Cameron destroyed his dad's precious car.

Hilarious.

Brian won't get very far if he does try that.

Anything can be repalced sure enough but the point is...you don't want to cross too many lines because if so, you too can and will be replaced. If I truly felt my wife was pulling a ton of crap like this...I don't think I'd bother being with her. Cards being just cards has nothing to do with it. Its the fact that you don't need to be miserable or afraid that every time you get into it(which is always going to happen) that you will have your stuff tossed out. Who needs that? What kind of relationship is that?

In any case...apparently Sean and Bunchobull know something I don't so this whole thread may be nothing more than shennanigans to try to pull some ill advised stunt. Who knows.

She wouldnt be my wife for much longer...

If you leave after an arguement and she throws away your prized and sentimental possesions, that shows there is some unstability on her side.
Not only that but a total lack of respect towards something you've put your time and heart into. If any woman I was ever with did anything like that it would be a instant relationship killer.

So, not to bring up a bad subject, but how is it that you were able to sell one of the cards from your 1936 set (and have completed the transaction, as the buyer has left you positive feedback) if the cards were gone?

I'm totally not in this, but I would like to see a real explanation for this since I see way too many people who seem half-heartedly out for some sort of charity. (Again, not what I'm saying BH's post was, but it's of the same beast.)
