I appreciate the words of encouragement guys. I just try to remember that there are others who are in much worse situations (they have a mortgage, kids, etc.).

My district has had declining enrollment for 8 years yet they kept hiring and now we have to pay the price for their mistakes.

I honestly may need to leave the state to search for another teaching position because Governor Corbett has literally declared war on education and has cut over a billion dollars in funding from public schools.

and I agree that the idea of cutting teachers does not make the slightest ounce of sense... what are schools going to do with the kids then, just keep them in a room all day or simply not accept them in??

Our Superintendent announced that she plans on cutting at least 25 teachers. I'm #22 on the list. Trying not to worry and panic but I would be lying if I said I wasn't. I just want to know already so I can start planning where I go from here.

This Texas Brown Tarantula was found in a shipping box last night at the Everett Facility. It bit the Employee receiving the goods and our firefighters responded. Someone caught the spider and it was taken to the hospital with the patient.

This really exemplifies why we always need to maintain a safety vigilance. You never know what we will encounter in the things we receive from around the world.

That's a heck of an occupational hazard.
When I worked in the produce department at a Winn Dixie, we had a tarantula in a box of bananas.
The guy that found it let out the highest pitched scream I've ever heard from a man. :lol:

Holy crap do I hate spiders. I was bit by a poisonous one at my apartment during college while student teaching. Hand swelled up so much I couldn't move it and I was in so much pain. Spent a good day in the hospital.

Good morning. Took the day off as I'm in no frame of mind to be working.

My uncle should be getting out of the hospital this weekend. My grandfather is still not doing very well. His speech has returned but he's having some serious issues walking and is going to rehab in hopes that he can regain it.

Stay strong man, sending good thoughts your way. My wife is a teacher, and we went through the same thing last year, shes a Orchestra Director, and music always seems to get hit first.

Came home today and found a roach in my house. Weird thing is, it was in my living room and dead on its back. There is absolutely no possibly point of entry that I can find to that room, and why was it dead? Just weird...

I swear he's out to destroy our great state. He wants to completely remove any funding for state parks, give hand outs to the wealthy, and do away with public education in hopes of moving entirely to charter and online schools. I hope people see this and vote him out come election time.
