Some great shots there alex...weather treat you well?

Thanks Dan!!! The weather was 50/50...it was either VERY sunny (but still cold with snow in spots) or VERY rainy. Luckily being born and raised in Seattle the rain didn't bother me too much...although I would not complain if the sun did stay out

I love camping and hiking. I don't do it that often, despite being surrounded by millions of acres of Adirondack Mountains.

Nice!!! And how could you not? The important thing is that you still do it regardless of how often ;)

Dave (pgh) - Here is my visual "ode" to your Penguins winners ;)

These are the first pics I took the day before the new and improved penguin exhibit reopened at our Woodland Park Zoo...gotta love having the fiance be a volunteer at the zoo for the early sneak peaks ;)

the Penguin exhibit looks awesome.

the one at the Pittsburgh Zoo really needs to be redone. it's very boring and dark.

Well I have the 2 all day Saturday, the wife is working the Preakness. Our contact at the track hires my mom, dad, brother, wife to help run the Corporate Village. It will just be a long day for everyone. I refuse to work it because I will bet more then I would get paid for the day. The others are not big betters. I just love the horses.

Depending on the weather I might take the girls to the zoo. Then drop them off at the inlaws later in the day so they can sleep there.

Its just been a crazy week at work and I am still waiting for a package from UPS to come in today so I can count some ribbons and take them to the track. Got to love when they add a tent a few days before the big day. Lucky us we have a good ribbon company.

We do the zoo all the time, at least once a month when its nice out. Its nice that it is about 15mins from us and that we are members.

The only problem is the 2 year old is turning into a terrible 2. Hope she is on her best behavior for me on Saturday

I hope you get a chance to make time for it too...but keeping busy is healthy as well, especially during these economic times. Have a great day yourself Scott!!!

that would be a great series but I prefer Carolina because the Pens would have home ice. I am very excited for both Game 7's tonight.

I know that everyone's weeks (including mine) haven't been the best. I attributed that to the reason why the Morning Thread was slow the last couple of days. Seeing today though, I realized it's because Alex wasn't here. He's the "Chatty Cathy" of the group (just kidding bud).

::facepalm:: ::facepalm:: I'm already regretting using the term "Chatty Cathy" in a post.

Good morning Dan, Josh, Dave, Alex, Andrew, Art, Joe. I still need to learn everyone else's names

Josh - Got a ton of rain here too, but I think you guys bore the brunt of it.

Dave - Go Penguins! Have fun at game 2!

Alex - Great pics! The wife and I haven't had time to camp in forever :(

Art - Horses kick back, but I'm sure you knew that

Joe - Chatty-Cathy? Really? :D

As for me, I've had some really fun mail this week, so I think I'll share :D

July41963YankeeStadium.jpg

This is an original 1963 Associated Press photo of my Grandfather when he played with the White Sox.
Below is the photographers typed up caption for the photo.

I've started to collect all of his cards, but there are a few SP's that I don't have yet.

I also got a couple of new PC cards, including my first multi-colored patch of Billy Williams :D

Sorry for the long post guys, I just love to share with my morning crew brethren :D

Morning all.

Really great pics, Alex! I am officially envious of your camping trip! Rain or not, it looks great.

Getting ready to head out to work; should be a busy day as the students begin their end-of-the-semester/final project freakouts! Is it wrong that I take some fiendish glee in their anguish... :) I have told them for weeks that they needed to get their work done, but they kept putting it off... :?

Charlie - That is such a cool photo...especially since its your grandpa!!!

Joe - I thought that pet name was for you only :x

Charles- Great pick ups. The photos of your grandfather are incredible.

Alex- Sorry brother, I couldn't help myself.

I just hope Dave (wide) doesn't see that. After the whole "man touching" incident, I don't know that he would let me live down "Chatty Cathy".

I don't remember the whole thing. I just know that one morning the group hug smiley kept getting posted and I said there was an awful lot of man touching going on. Dave (wide) vowed he would never use that smiley again.

Well gents, I have to talk my wife to the doctor. I hope you all have a great day and I'll see you later on.
