31 Dwight Gooden
25 Herb Score
23 Kerry Wood
21 Mark Prior
21 Hideo Nomo
20 Tim Lincecum
20 Bob Feller

Lincecum has only pitched in 92 games, so he will probably get at least a couple more 10 K games in his next 8 starts.

In case you're wondering, Nolan Ryan had fourteen 10 K games in his first 100, but he pitched in relief in 30 of those games. In his first 100 starts, Ryan had 24 10 K games

Do you know that Lincecum has NEVER felt pain in his arm? That he never iced his arm once in his life until professional baseball when the Giants forced him to?

Just because something is different, doesn't mean it won't work.

He also started yesterday and only threw 14 pitches for warmup. He seemed to do pretty well!

He doesn't need to throw hard when all of the torque is created by his hips. His belt buckle is almost pointed at the short stop when his delivery starts and comes all the way around to help create some inertia with his arm for increased velocity.

Yah, that study on Prior was nuts. He put the least torque on his elbow, picture perfect delivery, and then blammo.

It's always going to come down to genetics with pitchers. Genetics and luck. There are a ton of guys with horrible mechanics that somehow dodge the injury bug and guys with great mechanics that break down like a Toyota. Such is life. To claim that Lincecum is either is premature.
