The bad news I just got made me open this post to discuss expensive signatures to authenticate. I asked for a Pancho Villa (Mexican Revolutionary) because he wasn't listed on the fee page and they answered it was $150, gulp.

P.D. Do they have cases for 8X10 photos? My item is a letter, but similar size to 8X10. I don't worry much about the signature but my intention would be to get it encapsulated for protection.

Just for showing off this is the item in question:

Crap... my reply got lost somehow... risking the dreaded double post

That is a great item. My great grandmother Mary Contreras used to tell us stories about how she came to the U.S. on a wagon train that was guarded by Pancho Villa and his compadres. She said he used to pick up the kids and let them ride on his horse with him. Congrats on the pickup!

That is a nice! My wifes great grandmother had one of Simon Bolivars personal journals and of course, it disappeared years and years ago. That would be nice to have.

Booh! Now I'm definitely now going the PSA route. They have holders for photographs of about 8X10 and smaller, but they are only used for photographs and can't use them on a piece of paper even though it is the same size..........
Waiting on a response by JSA, they also don't have the fee listed.

You gotta stop showing that book, gracecollector! It makes me drool every time, and then cry when I know what happened to it!

And Rube Waddell is listed at 250 on PSA's website, as is the abovementioned Addie Joss.

All those HOF guys that are impossible to find. Joss Waddel Shoeless Josh Gibson all those guys. I've been looking for an authenticated Joss auto and have never ever been able to find one on any auction catalog or anything

Not Baseball related But Pablo Picasso is up there. His daughter is the only one who is able to authenticate his original works and her fee is unbelievably high.

Here's what the BGS/JSA ones look like. They are pretty thick. I think they use the same for magazines as they do pieces on letterhead. I think I paid $75 each plus an $8 oversize fee.

This just sold last month and it is the closest thing I've ever seen to a Joss auto. I thought about going after it, but had no idea it would go for 10K!

Off the top of my head these were $250 (the top tier) on PSA/DNAs website when I last checked.
