I don't think Skenes has proven to be iconic yet....maybe after 10 years he could be in there. I would replace him with the number 1 card from their first set, which would be Yogi Berra Red Back.

First thing i did was publicly call them out and say its TOPPS card list. And skenes is insulting to be on that topps list.

These kid employees dont even know their own companies historical products.

Wheres the 1968 Topps 3d Clemente ? More " iconic" to any real collector than the pimped out childish skenes publicity stunt

"Iconic" describes someone or something widely recognized, revered, and considered a quintessential symbol of a particular era, culture, or style.

If we are speaking only Topps cards, then it's going to be those that people immediately recognize. As much as I hate that it defines modern baseball cards, you'd have a hard time arguing against the 1952 Mantle as being the #1 Topps card ever made. From there, it starts to get into personal favorites and such.

Are we just speaking Topps baseball or other sports as well? Super scarce test issues included or just the run of the mill pack pulled variety. Those were easier to get, but the rare stuff is certainly up there in hobby lore.

The tall boy Namath RC, the Alcindor RC, Gretzky RC, Bird/Magic/Erving....so many baseball heavy hitters of the best of the best (Mays, Aaron, Clemente, Koufax, Jackie Robinson, etc. I believe the list must include the 71 Munson, period. Not a rookie, not a HOFer, but one of the finest pieces of cardboard ever designed and made.

That list of 10 as presented does not represent Iconic to me. Picks 1-6, minus 5 are all serious contenders though. Too soon to be including "new" cards in my opinion. Especially 2000s and newer.

2011 Topps Update Mike Trout. Topps Update was just another filler set despite Justin Verlander rookie few years back. Once Trout became an All-Star it became a must have set for rookies

But which one specifically?

Assuming you mean a Refractor?

The Ripken?
just that that was the first set that had refractors. Before ebay they were very sought after by set and player collectors. very hard to find.

85 Topps Rusty Kuntz. Greatest name in baseball history, and located directly under the Greatest RHP in baseball history on the factory sheet.
