I'm looking to pick up a few Kobe RCs/rookie year cards that have yet to get noticed or have the true value realized. Anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking about the Metal Precious Metal. These were 1 per box and never come up for sale on ebay. It kinda compares to the Skybox Rubies. Rubies fell about 2 per box and the Precious Metals fell about 1 per box. The Rubies sells rather well and is easier to find than the Precious Metal. What do you guys think?

Agreed. If they were 1997/98, then your talking investment, but the only thing those two have going for them is set recognition. They live of of the success of the 97/98 sets.

I understand that they get thier hype due to the 97/98 sets. But how often have you actually seen the PM for sale? The Ruby may be overvalued but the PM is impossible to find and therefore I think it has potential.

The card you are talking about is a great card. But itll never be hyped up to the point of insane dollars. Its a 1 per box guarenteed card from the set. Just like the 96 Ruby which is a bit worse because it was a box topper. Either way you were guarenteed to get atleast one per box.

I think the 96 Topps chrome BGS 9.5 and the Refractor BGS 9.5 are undervalued.....again!! They seem to have lost their appeal and prices have dropped. Id buy them up cheap when you see them pop up.

The PMG, credentials and Rubies are getting a ton of money because of a select few guys throwing them up on ebay and having action on them. They'll command dollars from price collusion and new investment hounds. They cycle. They will come back down in price.

Dont forget that 98-99 numebered insert go for an insane amount of money because its nearly impossible to find the stuff. 98 was the NBA lockout. Product from that year is already hard enough find with the production cut backs. But also because a ton of it was ripped because of the Vince Carter hype as well.

Id say there are a few that are undervalued honestly. Some of the more expensive ones are the Press Pass Rc Auto, the Topps Chrome RC, & Topps Chrome RC Refractor, as these have all been mentioned already....one that I think people overlook now but was hot years ago is the Topps Draft Redemtion RC. It was a redemption of course and centering is always an issue with it. The same goes with the TSC "Members Only" RCs as these are really tought to consistently find.

Just my opinion though!
