8 player relic /8 that I forgot to post earlier. They are so uninspiring, you can see how I might forget about it!

A few Dodger autos in a 78 WS Program and roster sheet. Will probably separate from program at some point. Nothing great, but was cheap enough to be worth the buy,WS Prog 1.pngWS Prog 2.png

Toni Tennille!
Not sure what that was about. Some of the names on the notes were wrong and I didn't find any non-Dodger autos, so maybe they removed that one? If it is in this program, I didn't see it.

Pretty sure this is the cheapest I have gotten one of these, $2 plus shipping! All in for under $10 is a bargain in my opinion.

It does have 2 pin holes in it (one top and one bottom border), but damn...2 HOFers (1 deceased now) and Garvey, signed and certified from UD for $2. Very surprised nobody else bid at all. I think some people maybe don't realize these are hand signed prints, not facsimile.

This is the 8th one I have picked up in the semi-recent past, all for cheap. They did retail for $10 originally though, so there is that.

Ok, so no Toni Tennille to show off. But I'm curious - what does your inventory of items with non-baseball autographs alongside Dodger autographs look like? My Pirates collection includes a few items that were also signed by Steelers or local media personalities, but nothing too glamorous.

I collect or did collect any sports autographs that seemed significant, so football, basketball, hockey and even some oddball stuff like boxing, olympics, golf, etc. I preferthe big 4 stuff on cards mostly.

As far as non-sports autographs go, I am not a huge fan of them. I just never cared enough to chase actors, performers, etc. I do have a few assorted here and there that caught my eye or were easy purchases. A couplerecord/CDs by bands or artists. I have a few politicians, most were letters my dad sent to representatives back in the day. Probably my biggest pleasure for non-sports is those actors who were part of Magnum PI, my favorite TV show of all time. Aside from the big 4, I have most of the cast members who were reoccurring characters, some of the more memorable or famous appearances/characters who were not reoccurring.

Re Tennille, sorry, let me clarify. Was wondering if you have items signed by both Dodgers + non-baseball celebs, like the item you showed (if it actually had the Toni Tennille auto).

Ah, the only thing that comes to mind are those celebrity events from the 70s/80s like the Network Superstar competitions or Garvey had a bunch of celebrity golf/ski/tennis tournaments back then with full on programs that I got a few signed by a variety of celebs.

Only one in, but it's a big one. Dodger 8 player booklet auto /6. I really wanted to win one for it's uniqueness, at least in the Garvey arena. He is in a couple of booklet cards already though, so I was not planning to pay a ton relatively speaking. Add up the cost of each sticker auto on it's own and they are still expensive autographs at the "bargain" price I snagged this for. Especially considering the line up isn't exactly stellar and appealing to most people outside of Dodger fans. No Hall of Famers and Charlie Hough gets a valuable/limited spot! Yet another miss where someone could have featured the legendary long playing infielders, but no Lopes. They did capture the first quad 30 HR club from 1977 though (Garvey, Cey, Baker, Smith). Leaf has some odd groupings recently, including guys like Mickey Hatcher, Joe Ferguson and Jerry Reuss and multi-player cards. Are we really running out of quality guys for cards like this or are they just cheaping out?

Baker may get in for his managing. Garvey may someday get that veteran nod, but I might be dead by that time! There have definitely been better books made, but I still like it.

Really mixed on these. It is apparent that how these were distributed via ebay, it sure seems to scream back door/friends only coming from Leaf. The same sellers. maybe one seller, have sold the vast majority of Garvey cards I have seen of this type . Didn't bother to see if they had other players.

They make a partial card all of these are blank backed) in a wide array of colors, patterns and such, stamp them 1/1 or denote promo/prototype and then sell them. It's literally like printing money and that is one of the reasons I have come to dislike Leaf more and more over time. I understand smart business, but this just feels dirty. Still, here I am fueling the fire, so I can't really talk all that much. The key here is these went pretty cheap. My main rival didn't bid, so assuming they were out of pocket for some reason.

I am not trying hard to get all the parallels, as these are non-licensed cards, but I have been able to get most pretty cheap and a few low serial numbered copies for relatively cheap, so why not. These are /6 and /49

That board has been shown more often than Ron Jeremy's Louisville Slugger, but I guess I'd show it off too if I had it. I had a shot at a couple of those coins. First time was my "One that got away" story. The next time, the seller wanted $1500 and I confidently passed. I have always collected for fun and although I have spent a lot of money over the years, I don't tend to buy really expensive items and just find it too much to spend large sums on a hobby. Plenty of people do, so I don't fault them. it's just not how I roll.

This is one of the top 3 custom makers that I have come across and frequent. I should just say 2, since I have still yet to nab a Helmar. This is larger, like a tall boy but wider. Unfortunately not packed well and USPS being extra abusive. Hopefully I can flatten it in a book.Garvey 1:1 custom.png

Copy that. Didn't know the back story!

But any time you want to drop knowledge while working in a reference to Ron Jeremy's tube snake, well, you go right ahead sir.

I remember watching an honest, legit (not p0rn) documentary about him years ago. Turns out he's one of the cheapest men on planet earth. There's a long sequence where he's walking through this airport, hopelessly lost, carrying these garbage bags around with him. Those garbage bags are his luggage! Because he simply refuses to pay for luggage. Apparently it doesn't matter to him that you can get used luggage at the second hand store for like $8 each. He just will NOT pay for it.
