Meh, I would be excited if they would announce how many ali autos there will be. I say 10-15 due to the amount of money the family charges no matter who you are, add that with the fact his declining health and you will get a check mark autograph somewhere on a card (not his fault but still) its hardly something to freak out about.

SK always announces exactly how many of each card there is. Every single one of them. They wait until closer to release time though, and I doubt this time will be any different.

Wouldn't it be nice if every card company announced the exact print runs of all their cards?

And as far as "it's hardly something to freak out about"...tell that to the guys who sell his cards for a lot of money. ;)

I think we will all be shocked to find out how many Ali autographs this product will have. No need trying to be a downer when you have no idea what the deal is. Ali autos don't come cheap as you pointed out. But I wouldn't doubt that Ali wants his name added to the Sportkings list of world class athletes. To not include Ali just wouldn't be right, and I wouldn't doubt Ali thinks the same thing. We will probably never know how much it cost to sign him, but we all have a chance to collect his autograph again, and it will be on-card, and it's sure to be highly sought after. Honestly, there's no sense denying it. LOL

For one I am not being a downer ask Brian from razor what they wanted, if I recall correctly its around $1,000 per autograph through the foundation. If you think there will be hundreds upon hundreds of autographs good for you, I for one dont. Is it a sweet name to put on a box sure, but lets be honest for a second there wont be many at that buy in price.

I wouldn't ask Brian from Razor anything when it doesn't concern him or his products. I can guarantee you he wasn't involved in this transaction, therefore he's not the one to ask. What I find interesting about your comment though is that Brian Gray has apparently attempted to get Ali to sign, and didn't/couldn't. However, Dr. Price was able to do it. :D

Of course it's not likely SK will have "hundreds upon hundreds" of Ali autographs. That's not their style. They don't overload any market. They produce only an extremely limited product from their base and mini cards to their inserts and autograph cards. In the past, there have been only gold and silver versions of their autograph cards. Their gold versions ALWAYS contain a print run of 10 cards and their silver versions alwasy contain more. However, their silver version print runs can vary from card to card. I think it's safe to assume quite a few more Ali autos than "10 to 15", but it should be much less than "hundreds upon hundreds".

SK might definitely change things up this time around. I have no idea what their product and print run make up will be, but I'm sure this product will have a following, and it will make SK even more popular than before.

#1- I wouldnt assume I am not doing something with Ali.
#2- I think it is awesome that Sportkings (dr. price) included him. KUDOS Brian!
#3- Even if the signature is not as nice as in the past, it may be among his last on-cards (notice I said among).

BG,

You make it sound as if you all but have him locked up in a deal. That would be great for your products. Can you tell us more?

Thanks,

Matt

Ali signed some nice looking auto cards for Classic, too. Those sometimes go pretty cheap.

Beckett has ProLine listed as having an Ali auto card in 1992 and upper deck had some in 2000, but I couldn't find anything else doing a quick search.

I'm definitely happy someone is making this happen again. From what I can tell, it's been 10 years since his last autographed card.

I found it...thanks.

Here's a list of the Muhammad Ali autogaphs that I could find in Beckett. The Classic version has no pricing. In fact, the only one that does is the 1992 Proline. Didn't Proline own Classic at some point?

2000 Upper Deck Muhammad Ali Master Collection Autographs Card

1992 Classic World Class Athletes #AU34 Muhammad Ali/ Certified Autograph AU Card

2000 Upper Deck Muhammad Ali Master Collection Autographs #ALIA1 Muhammad Ali AU, S# 50

2000 Upper Deck Muhammad Ali Master Collection Autographs #ALIA2 Muhammad Ali AU, S# 50

2000 Upper Deck Muhammad Ali Master Collection Autographs #ALIA3 Muhammad Ali AU, S# 50

2000 Upper Deck Muhammad Ali Master Collection Autographs #ALIA4 Muhammad Ali AU, S# 50

1992 Pro Line Portraits Team NFL Autographs #1A Muhammad Ali back AU AU $500.00

No, I don't think Proline was ever a part of Classic, or vice versa. I think his best auto card is that Proline stuff, those were beautiful.

Here's a picture of a card that has both the "Classic" and "Pro Line" name on it. I can find examples from 1993 as well. I honestly have no idea, and is why I'm asking...Aren't these two names/logos the same used when Pro Line and Classic were separate, thus making it look as if they combined?

Whoa. I guess they did team up. I didn't really collect in the mid-1990s. I just remember being really impressed with the initial Proline releases - and I never collected football cards.
