This is also posted in the baseball forum, but will probably get more love over here vs those darn prospectors
As I posted in a thread a while back, I decided to start up my Vintage Musial Collection. I already had 6 cards, so I had a decent start. According to Beckett, Musial had 84 "cards" from his playing days, so those are the ones I will be looking for. Some will be easy, some will be hard, some will be impossible in my opinion. If I can find a nice signed/autoed copy of the card for a decent price, I will do that first, otherwise it will be slabbed or decent looking raw cards. I dont need the symmetry of having all cards being PSA, or BVG, or Raw, or sigend, just having a copy of each will suffice for now. To help fund this operation, I have decided to sell off the majority of the rest of the modern Musial cards that I have. I will keep the Studio set Im working on, the Sterlings (for now) and the Allen and Ginters that I have.
With that, lets start off showing the cards I currently have in my collection, starting with oldest to newest.
1947 Homogenized Bread (Autoed)
I picked this card up in the REA auction 3 years ago, so I am confident it is authentic.
1948 Bowman (Autoed)
This card was signed at the Bob Feller Museum in Jan 2011 at a private signing
1950-53 Royal Desserts (Autoed)
I picked this card up in the REA auction 3 years ago, so I am confident it is authentic.
1953 Bowman Color
Would like to get this PSA slabbed eventually
1960 Nu-Card Hi-Lites
1961 Topps
Would like to get this PSA slabbed eventually
OK, Here are the pickups in the last week, my personal favorite is the 1959 Topps 3,000th hit, amazing sig!
1947-66 Exhibits Kneeling (PSA Auto)
1959 Topps 3000 Hits (PSA Auto)
1960 Topps (PSA Auto)
1960 Topps Tattoos Autographed Ball (hard find)
1962 Topps In Action (PSA Auto)
1958 Topps All-Star (*** Auto)
Originally from my 190 Auto lot from REA in 2008, reacquired from hofmichael, thx
So Im at 12/84, or 14.3%
Thanks for looking.
