Previous weeks rank is in parentheses.

1. (3) New England Patriots – Looked good against the Titans on both sides of the ball.

2. (4) Atlanta Falcons – The offense looked great, but the D gave up some plays to the Chiefs. Matt Ryan is going to put up huge numbers with White and Jones.

3. (7) San Francisco 49ers – Beating the Packers on the road was impressive. Alex Smith just keeps proving people wrong.

4. (9) Baltimore Ravens – The beat the Bengals down. Joe Flacco and the offense are going to be a nightmare to opposing teams.

5. (6) Houston Texans – Houston played well on both sides of the ball, but it was against Miami. They should roll Jacksonville this week.

6. (2) Green Bay Packers – Tough loss against the 49ers. They are still a force though.

7. (5) New Orleans Saints – Very surprising loss for the Saints. Brees and the offense will still win a bunch of games this year.

8. (15) Dallas Cowboys – Dallas looked good against the Giants. Ogletree may be a pleasant surprise this season.

9. (16) Chicago Bears – They started tough against the Colts, but overall, Cutler played well.

10. (14) Denver Broncos – Great win against the Steelers. Peyton Manning looked like he didn’t miss a beat.

11. (11) Detroit Lions – Stafford came through in the end, but the game should have never been that close.

12. (12) Philadelphia Eagles – That win was u-g-l-y. They need to play better against lesser opponents.

13. (13) San Diego Chargers – Nice win against Oakland. Even with key injuries, this is a good team.

14. (8) Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers are still solid, just started rough. They play the Jets this week, could they start 0-2?

15. (21) New York Jets – Where did that offense come from? With that D, the Jets could be a tough team this year.

16. (1) New York Giants – They should have beaten Dallas, but they played poorly. They should step it up against Tampa.

17. (10) Cincinnati Bengals – They got blown out by Baltimore on MNF. Let’s see how they look against Cleveland this week.

18. (18) Arizona Cardinals – Won a close one against Seattle. Skelton went down and Kolb stepped up. This team has the QB controversy.

19. (25) Washington Redskins– RGIII was impressive. Beating the Saints was very impressive.

20. (27) Tampa Bay Buccaneers – The D played well against Carolina. Doug Martin looked good. We’ll get a better look this week when they play the Giants.

21. (17) Buffalo Bills – All of that money spent on Defense didn’t seem to make a difference.

22. (19) Seattle Seahawks – Russell Wilson will get there, but there are going to be plenty of bumps in the road.

23. (23) Oakland Raiders – A special teams miscue cost them. They played well, but came up short. That will happen a lot this season.

24. (20) Kansas City Chiefs – They have some weapons, they just got seriously outplayed by a much better team.

25. (24) Carolina Panthers – What happened to Cam Newton? The Bucs D has improved, but Newton looked off his game.

26. (30) Minnesota Vikings – Peterson looked great in his return. He’ll need to keep that up to help Ponder.

27. (22) Tennessee Titans – They got dominated by New England. There will be some growing pains this season with Locker.

28. (26) St. Louis Rams – They played Detroit tough, but came up short in the end. They could be better than expected.

29. (28) Indianapolis Colts – Luck showed that he has the ability to be a solid QB. He just needs to not throw so many picks.

30. (29) Jacksonville Jaguars – Gabbert actually looked good against Minnesota. There’s potential there.

31. (31) Miami Dolphins – It was tough to start the season against the Texans. It’s going to be a long season in Miami.

32. (32) Cleveland Browns – The Browns had a chance to beat the Eagles, but they’re the Browns.

Not agreeing with the Saints and Packers ranked ahead of the Bears. I am a homer but still the Saints got carved up by a rookie qb and the Packers looked mediocre. Also I think ranking the Falcons that high isn't right. I'd have SF second and Baltimore third followed by Atlanta

Lions shouldn't be ranked that high given the placement of other teams like the Steelers.

This is how I came up with this.

Falcons #2- They have a better offense than the 49ers and Ravens. Flacco showed great last week, but one week doesn't do it for me. Same for Alex Smith. Both have a better defense, but they need to show me that they can sustain their offensive firepower.

Steelers #14- They lost, so they dropped a little bit. They should still be a great team, but I'm not sold after what I saw. Maybe this week they step it up and climb back into the top 10.

Packers and Saints over Bears- They're better teams. At least, that is my feeling. The Bears could prove me wrong tonight by beating the Packers, but they have to beat the Packers first before I say they're better. The same goes for the Saints. I think they are a better team than the Bears.

These rankings are not done solely on win-loss record. Otherwise, the top 16 would be last weeks winners and the bottom 16 would be last weeks losers. Off of record alone, are you trying to tell me that Tampa Bay is better than the Packers, Saints, and Steelers?

I don't agree with you saying the Steelers started out rough. Sure, they lost, but they were only down by 6 points with 3 minutes left to go in the game.

But to each their own, I respect you for even putting one of these together each week, it has to be hard putting it together.

Thanks Tim.

The only reason I said they started off rough is because I truly expected them to win. I'm sure the Steelers and their fans thought the same thing. Peyton Manning or not, I thought they would have played better and won the game. Though it pains me to admit it, there is a bit of a higher standard expected of the Steelers.

Eagles and Cowboys are too high and the Giants even though i hate to say it are too low.

No worries. I appreciate everyone's feedback.

Some of this is strictly my thoughts and feelings. Though they had a bad showing in a win, I think the Eagles are a good team. The Cowboys look good and beat the Giants. If the Giants secondary picks it up, they'll go back up, but time will tell.

If the Skins somehow pull this out i dont think the Skins should get bumped much. Their defense is going to lose them a lot of games.

You can probably look forward to slotting the Titans in somewhere near 33rd or 34th (assuming Alabama and LSU get votes in your polling).
