Well, it looks like I've had my first issue on eBay, ever, which resulted in a vindictive buyer.

twinsfan4life69

Item: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MESOX:IT

The story (abbreviated):

Card listed, as described fully with damage to the card.

Buyer makes offer, I accept. They then email and say their son bought the card, but they will still buy it. Then they want a certain amount back for the card, since it has damage.

Before I can respond, they pay and I mail out the card. Bad weather here cause loss of power and life issues. I tell the seller about this, from my only method (bberry).

Today, the card comes back to me and I tell the seller. I offer them two choices - card sent again or full refund. They choose option #2, refund, which I promptly do for them.

Then, I get negative feedback and the buyer says to call them. I call them and they tell me they had to leave the negative because they don't owe me nothing. I'm a liar and a BS artist, so it's only fitting.

So, people, block this buyer because they were completely vindictive and unreasonable, even after getting what they wanted. Sorry for the rant, just a little annoyed right now that eBay has no real protection for people trying to uphold the rules of selling and being completely honest as a seller.

Blocked. Here is another one to add to the list who just bought a card from me.

lingary789

This guy has like a 25% negative feedback left rate. i.e., a buyer who makes unreasonable demands or someone who fails at life in general.

Just to add...

eBay has removed the comment he left, but will not remove the actual negative feedback. They said the only way I can get that done is through the buyer, which I refuse to talk to any longer.

Also, I will not leave them feedback of any sort, because I don't operate that way as a seller. No need to fight fire with fire and stoop to their level.

Hopefully people understand when they see my feedback that it wasn't my fault.

ugh.

Do you know his former eBay name?

I have his wife's full name, and his first name.

eBay said they will investigate his history, so I want to give them any information I can.

Here is the email from him about a refund, which should point to his awful character:

i want my money back and ill leave some nice feedback and if you want to call me im up all night 803 *** 9538
thanks david. you are right this is an auction from hell

....And then he promptly leaves me negative feedback after I issue the refund.

Really guys, beware of this eBayer. Apparently, he was already kicked off for this crap and now he uses his wife's email and paypal.

Forward ebay that email. One of the ways ebay can remove a negative is if feedback is extorted. Seems like thats what the attempt was.

Is that what a bunch of us should have done a few years ago when you left negs for a bunch of people?

Jeff, I already tried that. I asked him why he felt the need to leave a negative when I accommodated him and followed through on my end to make the transaction right. His response? (yelling I might add)

"I don't owe you nothing! You are a liar and BS artist and you had no choice but to give me my money back! I would have just sent the card right back and gone to paypal for my money. I had a card arrive from Kansas too and they had like 12 inches of snow, so I don't believe you. I did what I had to do, even though I got my money back. I owe you nothing but what you deserve."

Mind you, here in NY we have had multiple feet of snow and loss of power. Apparently, Kansas is a good barometer of weather in the northeast.

His story changed with the wind during the whole thing....

First, his son bought it.
Then, he wanted money back for the damage, even though it was stated in the auction.
Then, he was going on vacation and wanted status updates.
Then, he suddenly wasn't on vacation and demanded status or threatened chargeback.
Then, wanted the card IMMEDIATELY because he had a buyer already for the item in his store.
Then, he wanted a full refund.
Following all this was he promise above for "nice feedback" after refund, which was actually negative feedback.

i dont understand why ebay will remove the statement but not the negative. if the customer gets his money back without dispute then there really is no issue. sorry you got the negative but i am sure that 99.6% wont scare anyone away!

I have called eBay twice and they told me the following.

Feedback comments can only be removed when the person uses vulgar language in the description (which he did). The comment will be taken down, but they cannot change the score.

To get a score change, it can only happen in the following ways:

1. The user is suspended (I reported his extortion message to eBay)
2. The Buyer AND Seller agree to remove it (not happening here)

So, eBay offers absolutely ZERO protection for the seller, no matter what they do. You can issue a refund, send the item again, etc and it still doesn't stop them from messing up your reputation or issuing retaliation.

Enough with this guys. It was a cheap shot and it won't continue.

Let's keep this on topic and not let it get out of hand.

Thanks.

I guess I'm the only one not getting this. If you sell me a damaged card and don't call it and I have to send it back for a refund I'm dropping you a negative and you deserve it.
