Here's a special extended version of the Awards Prediction contest I'm currently hosting. This is open to everyone, including those already entered in the original contest.
For this game, your job is to predict the 11th-20th place finishers for both the AL and NL MVP.
Each correct prediction will earn the contestant a number of points equal to the number of points received by that player. There is also a multiplier that will be awarded for each correct prediction:
11th place: 10x
12th place: 20x
13th place: 30x
14th place: 40x
15th place: 50x
16th place: 60x
17th place: 70x
18th place: 80x
19th place: 90x
20th place: 100x
In the event of a tie between 2 or more players, the player(s) who recieved the highest seeded vote will get the higher place finish. In the example below, both Johan Santana and Chase Utley received 30 points. However, Santana had a 2nd place finish vote, while Utley's highest seeded vote was 4th. Therefore, Santana would be ranked 14th overall, while Utley would be ranked 15th.
Same situation with Adrian Gonzalez and Matt Holliday. Both received 13 points, but Holliday would be ranked ahead of Gonzalez because he had a 6th place vote, while Gonzalez’s highest vote was 7th. Here, Holliday would be ranked 18th, while Gonzalez would be ranked 19th.
The contestant with the highest total number of points will win an Ebay Gift Certificate. The value of the certificate will depend on how many consecutive correct predictions were made by the winner:
No consecutive correct predictions: $10
2 consecutive " ": $20
3 consecutive " ": $30
4 consecutive " ": $40
5 consecutive " ": $50
6 consecutive " ": $75
7 consecutive " ": $100
8 consecutive " ": $150
9 consecutive " ": $200
10 consecutive " ": $250
Ties will be broken the same way as above (the winner will be the one with the most correct highest place finish predictions).
Please PM me with your predictions no later than Sunday, November 22nd. One entry per contestant.
