my afternoon at the CONSOL Energy Center

last week the Penguins opened the Pens Gear store in the CONSOL Engery Center and today I went there to see what it was like. I was so excited to finally be inside this beautiful new building even if it was just in the lobby and the store. compared to the Civic Arena this place is a palace. I can not wait for the season to start.

I will be attending the Season Ticket Holder Open House this coming Saturday and will be able to tour the arena and hopefully we will be able to sit in our seats.

I would love to visit the Pens store someday, i would spend a fortune in there :lol:

So what kinds of stuff where they selling in the store? Any cards or other cool memorabilia? i bet they have a huge supply of baseball caps. Im looking for a Pens golf/visor cap.

they have pretty much every item you can think of. I actually went there hoping to find a black Pens hat but sadly they didn't have one I liked. there is a beautiful framed pic of Fleury hoisting the Cup for $160. I would really love to own that but it's a bit expensive for me right now. they also had one of the goals from the Civic Arena displayed right at the entrance of the store.

Great pictures Dave! I bet it was a blast to be in there. The place looks gorgeous, even if it is in Pittsburgh. Saturday is going to be a great time for you guys. Looking forward to seeing the pictures you'll get Saturday too.

Oh yeah, whenever you want to send a Crosby signed puck or something, you have my address. :lol:

it sure is gorgeous Joe. I am so excited for Saturday and I really hope we get to go into the locker room. it looks amazing from the pics I have seen. as for the Crosby puck I get the first one then you can get one.

if you are able to you should try to get to Columbus for a game this season. their arena is beautiful as well and I know you and Crystal would have a great time.

Very cool pics. Did Pens have any game used stuff for sale in team store?

I was just up in Montreal and checked out Habs place. The had a decent selection of game used sticks and game used jersey display. Here in Boston the Bruins have nothing game used at TD Garden team store.

sadly the Pens did not have any game used items for sale. they do hold an equipment sale after every season which I have never been to. maybe after this season I will get to go.

I think Pens have one right before training camp as well. If I see something on hockey game worn site I'll post here.
